Set bedding and strike, record spacing and template height

Super accurate bedding set up on bench then allows for super accurate strike setup on bench. These two provide the parameters for a bench regulation of a grand piano's action that fits back in the piano with no tweaking. But before proceeding to that regulation, we prudently record the hammer spacing at strike and the template heights that present strike for the regulation. If hammers need to come off, or if their travel and squaring needs adjustment, they can be re-spaced to this scale. And if a template should be accidentally loosened or knocked, the String Height Gauge recording provides an easy return to exactly the right strike.
