Hey, CA Hardik Manchanda! Thanks for the fantastic explanation! I've got a couple of questions though: Could you clarify why we need to do this GST setoff? I understand that when a manufacturer buys products from a supplier, they pay 18% GST. Then, when they sell the product, they add their margin and charge GST to the customer or retailer. In this case, why is there a need for GST setoff? Thanks again for the clear explanation!

Sir i have a doubt What if my business is based in Mumbai and i purchases goods from Mumbai which means i pay input cgst and sgst to the seller after that I'm selling my all goods in other states like delhi, gujrat, karnatka, and Andhra Pradesh. So now my question is that, Should i have to pay output igst to sett off it through input sgst or cgst? Or should i have to keep balance of input cgst and sgst and pay the output igst through cash/bank? And one more doubt sir, Can i use both input cgst and sgst at same time to sett of output igst?

Yes, you can use Input CGST SGST to set off IGST liability.
