In the last 4 matches between Bremen and Mainz, all 4 were won by Werder Bremen. It's just fascinating hahaha. And that end of the game is without a doubt one of the craziest endings in a Bundesliga match in recent seasons. It will be difficult to see both teams in UEFA competitions next season, I think only one will qualify.

To me it looked like the referee forgot that he had already given a yellow card to Stark earlier and never intended to send him off at first. Soon after, he realized that this was the second card and had no choice but to give the red card, because he couldn't retract that decision. It's very amateurish to happen at this stage. After this the referee knew he had made a mistake without openly showing it and mentally seemed very fragile whenever someone complained.

I'm going back and forth between laughing at the absurdity and dreading what our back line will even look like vs Bayern next week. Jung and Malatini probably out with injury, Stark and Friedl out if the Bundesliga doesn’t step in… I guess Pieper, Kabore, and Alvero as Centerbacks?

Dumb trash those red cards or second yellows whatever and the other player friedl for complaint and rightfully so stark didn’t even do anything and then their coach has a say about it after the game RIGHTFULLY so and then he gets sent off I absolutely hate this kind of garbage

I mean I do agree that the first red card was very Harsch. The other yellow and red card are both correct tho. The second card to Friedl was because he came running to the ref and grabbed him. I do understand that it's emotions after the first red card, but that is a yellow card when you come running to the ref like that. And the red card to the coach was also correct as he told in an interview after the match.

I literally just watched it back friedl didn’t even grab him and you mind showing me a link to a video of the coach saying that he himself should’ve got sent off because he was arguing speaking normally to the ref not yelling or something and for all the right reasons but if you got the coach saying “I deserved to get sent off” then I’ll check it out
