I stumbled across your lets play from your shorts, and youve inspired me to mess around with blueprints for the first time! Awesome! I love that! In the next episode or 2 I'm going to introduce something I've been super excited to work on, the gist is just a simple but (I think) AWESOME way to manage belts. I can't wait for next week. I'm super busy for the next few days with my real life. I can't wait to get back to dedicating brain power to Satisfactory. Thanks for taking the time to comment, you're the first to mention arriving at my Let's Play videos through the shorts, so I'm glad you're out there. SHORTS vs long form videos are completely different things. I'm glad I've expanded to SHORTS through, because they do really well for the tutorial videos I wanted to make. And they get so many views that I can make what I WANT to make (the let's play, slow, chill videos) and I don't care if they're slow and boring (but what I want to make) because I love it so much, so it balances out. I'm just so happy, and I appreciate you commenting. Have a wonderful weekend!

Thanks for the video. Wow, this segment trial went really well. The flow of the video seemed to work a lot better, than some of your "free-flow" videos of late. Goals were set and met, and it seems you still have the "chance" to let your imagination rip and make a lot of dang cool designs. I like it, a lot. How was the work process for you? Better, needs some getting used to, or cramping your style? Looking forward to the next video. Take care and have a great weekend.

It was great. I felt focused and was happy to want to accomplish a goal and then be done with it. I'm not sure it'll work for every episode...if I don't know what I want to build going into an episode I'll still be listless, but I think when it's clear what needs to be done it'll make the episodes flow better...So...kinda all three answers. It was better. I need to get used to it. And it cramped my style. That being said, I don't think the "style" it cramped was every what made it into videos. It felt intrusive, but I think it only interrupted parts that I'd have cut out of the final product anyway. So in that respect it was a real winner. I've committed to trying the next episode in the same format, and we'll see how it works when I have a large project (coal power, in this instance). I'm excited. I'm happy.

This. I don't know if I'll actually watch your video yet but this is finally how I finished phase 4 after my 3rd attempt. I made a MASSEIVE heavy modular frame factory in my 2nd playthrough using no alt recipes. it took ~20gw of power and was 3 full factories to make 10/minute and took me ~200 hours to build due to being paralyzed by having to much to do and not knowing what to do.

I've been playing this game for nearly 5 full years. I have thousands and thousands of hours played...and back before I used to try to make content for KZbin I would get so overwhelmed and like you said, paralyzed. So what did I do?! I restarted. I love the game, for sure, but once things get so complex...I didn't have the mental tools, resources and support to keep going. So...since I loved the game I wanted to keep playing, but once I got to the point I didn't know what to do...what do you do? If I restart I know how to play the early game. So that's what I did. I think that's why I love starting new saves and doing all the basic early stuff. Even collecting biomass and stuff, it's just sorta therapeutic. Calming. Comforting. I know what to do. I'm playing my favorite game and there's no anxiety. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy I've overcome that feeling that I MUST restart, through content creation and identifying my ADHD head on...when I started creating content I didn't KNOW I had ADHD, that's a recent discovery. And I have pressure and anxiety to keep going, but knowing what I know now, I'm eager to try to figure it out. It sounds like you've found something that works to keep you going and I love that for you. Conquer what you're working on and the come tell me about it. I'd love to hear the stories. Cheers! Bed

Long post, sorry for that, but I hope it helps. Personally, I'm someone who enjoys long format videos. So to me, the listlessness and ADHD brain running around everywhere is right up my alley to a degree. I understand how some can get quite frustrated when they see something get started and not finished or when the brain is zooming 1000mph and you end up overlooking something a dozen times. (You didn't actually do that, it's just an example.) I'd much rather the free form videos that show your brain working in it's unique way and lets me throw a video up in the background and just let it rip for 40min at a time. The thing I would say is to try and focus on learning to be happy with yourself first and foremost. This can be a mix of "let the chaos free" and also "Rules/lists help productivity". I don't think that you should be actively fighting your nature but at the same time, I understand how complete chaos can be quite destructive to the work flow and content quality. So I think there is a happy-medium to be struck but I think this vid might've been leaning just a bit too much into the edited side of things for me. I'm here to watch you play the game, not win the game, if that makes sense. I want to see your deductive reasonings, your successes, your failures, and everything in between. This feels like you're stressing about your ADHD and trying to compensate or fix it with editing. End of the day, be it long format ADHD brain vids or listed, edited, and cleaned up vids. What matters most is that you figure out what makes you happy as a person and not necessarily what appeases your fanbase. People will always come and subscribe. You have to cater to what makes this process bearable for you long term so that you enjoy the production process. Don't worry about what's boring or exciting. Focus on what you find enjoyable and rewarding. P.S. As a bit of advice someone who also has ADHD. Consider having your background music actually quietly playing while you're playing the game and talking, rather than editing it in post. Music can often help ADHD nuts, like us, focus on their goals. In a way, drowning out the chaos with something that has flow and structure but still allows creativity to groove away with it.

Thanks for taking the time to write out such a kind and thoughtful post. I really value the feedback and will take to heart everything you've said. And I'll keep trying to find the right balance between the chaos and productivity. That was nicely put. That's part of why I chose this mentality for playing 1.0 (I mean the forgiving myself and not being super rigid with any rules). Often times I get boxed in by my own rules I place to help me be productive, and then I get frustrated by them. So it's no problem to snap back to longer form, less edits, more natural play. Basically, I can do whatever I want, and whatever people request, and at the end of the day, that's ok! It may take a few (or a dozen) more videos to find the right balance, but I'm confident there's a happy medium out there. My goal is to show all the things you mentioned, the reasoning and rationale, successes, failures. I think that these parts are the heart and soul of a Let's Play series. I'll have to continue to cut out dead air and super repetitive tasks, but let me know if you think it's still too edited in the episodes to come. I DID like trying to be small goal oriented just so I focus enough to get things like modular frames automated. Maybe some general notes on the todo list will be enough to keep me on track but less...force everything to get done in a 3 minute segment. Another format I've considered and would like to try in the coming weeks would be to live stream me playing and filming the let's play style videos. So those that want the super longform stuff can have my entire unedited session, and those that want me to cut out running back and forth for missing items can get their videos, too. I don't have the answer, but I'll keep trying. And I AM having fun. Despite all the worrying and stressing over the ADHD and the...40 hours of gameplay with almost nothing done...those 40 hours have been a blast. Thanks again! I look forward to hearing from you again soon.

I'd say just keep a playlist of the livestreams or something so that nerds like myself can go binge hours of content xD. It is crazy! I'm going weirdly slow, but that's by design. I've been playing this game religiously for 5 full years. This is my one chance to experience the whole final product for the first time again. And since I've been making videos on the game for years and years I know that with my ADHD I'll rush and hand craft things to unlock milestones and rush ahead, but then not have the infrastructure to maintain that. I want to go each step of the way putting out my best factory possible, so I don't finish the game with no completed builds. So yeah! It is crazy, but on purpose because otherwise I know I can ruin the whole play...because I've done that 25 times. Thanks for commenting!

I've been meaning to ask, what do you think of the dimensional depot vs the faxit system in SF+?
@BEDplaysGAMES
@BEDplaysGAMES 2 ай бұрын
I love love love LOVE the dimensional depot (DD) compared to faxit. First off, hats off the KMods team to conceive of this idea that made it into the vanilla base game. Right? Like surely they spawned the idea in the devs? Do you think? I think so. And I talk about this a lot in my latest SF+ playthrough, but FAXIT removes the needs for tractors, trucks, trains, drones because of the way you can teleport the items to building machines. It made everything so easy I didn't love it at the end. I LOVED what it did for your inventory management. And...that's what the DD does, right? It gets rid of the tedium for managing a central storage for building factories, but you have to actually move all the goods. So the DD system takes all the BEST parts of faxit and removes the option for all the parts of faxit that make the game TOO easy. It's the best of all worlds all the time. So I love it a lot. I'm eager and excited to see what KMODS does with SF+ when incorporating DD. I fear the most basic answer is remove it for FAXIT, but the DD is so well implemented I think that'd be a mistake. I think they should embrace it and create something else new and amazing. I know they can do it.
@aaavellone
@aaavellone 2 ай бұрын
@@BEDplaysGAMES Agreed. KMods did an amazing job but I always thought that the tree was too demanding. I didn't really unlock most of it until tier 7 or so. The only real thing I used was the personal teleporter as I was jumping to mega factories on opposite corners of the map all the time at the end game. Saving 3-10 min to get there really added up. I didn't use the item transfers as much because I had trucks and trains already set up. The DD does a great job at giving you a lot of freedom but limiting it so it's not too OP. I was chatting with some other players the other day and they reminded me about Advanced Game Settings. Being able to get hundreds of Sloops and Spheres instantly (or any other item that isn't concrete) seems like dev approved cheating imo. I forgot that AGS was even there. I've been playing since update 4 and think I've only used it once. Got to tier4 in no time, lolz.
