It would be great if you could update this video with the current gen Tanksticks that come with the PCB board and Xinput. The tankstick documentation is good but a current video speaking to the difference between the Xinput and the standard keyboard input on the Tankstick would be great.

This was just now added to support the X-Arcade Tankstick? Are you sure there are no config files that can be dropped in LaunchBox like I did with Maximus Arcade? I am going to build a new MAME machine with LaunchBox but surprised there is no native support for the X-Arcade Tankstick? Do you know how many MAME cabinets exist with Tanksticks in them? Tens of thousands I am sure. I have had mine since 2008. I also have the X-Arcade official full cabinet. Love it!

I have a TankStick that I am trying to use with either RetroArch or Batocera. I can't get either to recognize that there are 2 joysticks instead of one.

Inside LaunchBox yes it acts as a mouse, but in games you need to configure it but I think X-Arcade has a config file for Mame.

I have Launchbox 10.0 installed on my cabinet and when I tried a secondary controller key with my tankstick it replaced the button, it didn't add it like it shows at the 1:32 mark in this video. Am I doing something incorrectly?

The trackball is a beast with Battletoads and Golden Tee! Both made for trackballs...

Tanksticks now ship with the triboard controller board upgrade. It now acts as 2 individual Xbox controllers when switched to the new mode: shop.xgaming.com/products/pre-order-new-x-arcade-xinput-upgrade-kit

If they made a new one that came with a spinner, or an alternate one that came with flight sticks and trigger buttons, i would totally buy a second tankstick. i've had mine for ten years and i love it.

I got the joystick for player 1 and 2 set up but what about mapping the buttons for players 1 through 4 and admin buttons? Player 1 and 2 have 6 buttons and player 3 and 4 have 4 buttons. I also have 4 admin buttons. TIA!

I'm confused. If you use LB/BB as your frontend, why do you need to install RetroArch as another frontend?

Set up player 2, It recognised down (key F) but when I actually press down I get nothing. Any ideas what might be causing this?

I have retroarch (launchbox/bigbox). How do i set up my ultimarc trackball? I got the computer to recognize the mouse and i can move the trackball around. Same in retroarch, the trackball moves around like a mouse, but i dont know how to get it to work in games. PLEASE HELP! AGAIN I AM USING RETROARCH AND NOT MAME OR RETROPIE!!! THANKS!

Have a two week old tank stick just like in the picture . Can get to the same screen he does but when I hit down or up etc . Nothing happens at all. The power light is on. There has to be some new difference to change it to maybe controller mode or something he is skipping to say in the video

Do you know how to change the keyboard inputs mapped to the stick. The main two buttons on my stick are mapped to control and alt and when I use my stick to move it flips the screen over and kicks me out of the game. I would appreciate if someone could help

ETA - Please make a video on how to setup the emu AAE for LB...it works better than MAME with those type of games visually and feel...I know that you like to use individual EMUs instead of using Retro...thanks in advance

Go in your Launchbox directory and unzip a previous file in the backup directory and replace all the files, happened to me also. Kinda late but might help someone else! Unfortunately this video here didnt fix my issue, hold button doesnt work but maybe its just for retroarch.

For example, if i launch a game, my x-arcade is recognized and i can play witjout configuring anything..?If not, do we need the new pcb to get x-input and play without configuring anything...I mean, if emulators are of course already configured with xbox 360 controllers... It was i while back that i looked. Just checked again, Tankstick $199, shipping to the UK $129, so $330 all in.

Don't pay $330 for one! I have one and it's definitely not worth that much... I wouldn't pay anymore than £100 for one tbh. I basically had to replace everything inside the tankstick. The only thing I kept was the side panels and the base (even the panel had to go because it's too thick for most replacement sticks).

@@studioviper3016 yeah dont worry i aint paying that ever. When i first looked and the shipping doubled the price i ended up getting a Mayflash F500 off of Amazon UK for £79. This was my first arcade stick and i have been happy with it for MAME. Im sure there are better arcade sticks, but i spent a lot of years playing real arcade games in my local, and i dont remember how they felt now, as this was the early 90's.

Check out how much it costs to ship the Xtension "Emulator Edition" controller from RecRoomMasters. I own both and the Xtension is way better in my opinion. They are also about to officially release a firmware update that can switch on the fly between the default raw input, to direct input and x-input. I just started using it in x-input mode for my Steam fighting games (MK9 - MK11 & Killer Instinct) and it recognizes them as 2 Xbox controllers perfectly. It works much better than any of the button remapping to Xbox buttons software at least as far as Steam games go.
