[NEW VERSION WITH BETTER QUALITY + UPDATED TRANSLATION]
i did my best to translate this short film by hide and tusk, but some of those kanji had 2x2 pixels and i had to work with that... so if i got anything wrong don't be afraid to correct me, i'm only a hobbyist translator and neither of these languages is my first lol!!
CW// this film has a sexual assault-ish religious sacrifice (?) scene around the 28~30 minute, so this is a warning for everyone who may need it. it's not very graphic, just some boobs, but just in case
(will not warn for flashing images, bugs and fleshy alien vaginas because that's a hide film, you should be expecting these regardless of me saying anything)

What a difference subtitles make! I am a newer hide fan (did not discover him and X until March 2021) and I had previously watched this movie a couple of times, trying my best to understand it based on context and despite reading the synopsis before AND after, multiple times. The whole thing is still quite otherworldly and deeply conceptual (ranks up there with his poetry book which is amazing!) but would one expect anything less from hide??? I seriously think he was entirely too intelligent for his own damn good. It is also fascinating to me that hide obviously had very natural acting ability...he was seemingly always very comfortable in front of a camera to begin with. He honestly appears to be confused and frightened when Seth and Holth are literally dumped in the middle of rush hour in downtown Tokyo....but considering he was bi-polar anyway (or "manic depressive" as was the term back then), I am sure it was not difficult for him to get where he needed to be to execute that scene. Tusk, on the other hand, seems to be totally out of his element with just about everything....some scenes err on the side of being awkward because of it, in my personal opinion. THANK YOU SO MUCH for taking the time to do this....us Western/non-Japanese understanding hide fans are forever in your debt!! 😻

Truth be told, I only wanted to watch this film because of Hide, didn't expect much of it I was pleasantly surprised at watching it and seeing it was an absolute masterpiece of a film Killer soundtrack, Etherial and nightmarish visuals, Creative and astounding editing and an overall very interesting premise with occult and religious overtones Just became one of my favorites, the best part? It's not even an hour long Thank you so much for this

Thank you! i'm so glad i can spread how amazing this film is. It really is so much more than just a random "shock-value" collab, you can tell there is a deeper message here and everyone put in a lot of effort to make it a real work of art, despite the fact it was a passion project with a small budget. i'm beyond happy i could contribute to creating more seth et holth fans

@@anbivalence This is definitely not just some visual kei fanservice project even though it's such a massive love letter to the subculture itself It has a mind and a soul, it is a very intelligent and beautiful work of art, it has a story and a meaning, can perfectly hold itself as a serious literary and cinematic work We should cherish and celebrate it, this really is one of the best films I have ever seen and I can tell it's going to influence my art so deeply

I have mixed feelings like what did I just watch..? I wasn't ready for that level of weirdness. I feel if I knew from the start that the movie was written by mosly hide himself I would have been ready for more silliness. I thought he only played in it.
