... Because those teams are so improbable that there's no analytics before the tournament starts that would indicate they're going to go on a run. So how do you correctly pick which it'll be; you can't so you just try to pick the most likely winners of each game and then give people your list of most likely upsets, which is what most sites do.

the only reason they're riding Duke is because Duke is on a 9 game win streak, just picked up 2 quad 1 wins and are 18-1 with their fully healthy lineup, only loss being to Virginia in OT after that blown call at the end of regulation. Duke is a top 10 defensive team in the nation and have heated up on offense the last 10 games. they're gonna be a threat to anyone they face

From the googlable slang dictionary: Chalky is a term used in sports betting to mean a person has picked mostly favorites. Translation? If a person’s picks are chalky, they picked all of the teams that are most likely to win. As others have noted though, he picks almost no upsets early so mostly chalk. It probably doesn’t refer to Rock Chalk, Jayhawks, Go KU!

In fact, they shouldn’t have made the tournament. They stole bids from the Big 12 and Big 10. The committee just felt bad because they didn’t want the ACC to send fewer teams than a mid major conference. NC State had one quad 1 win and that was against Duke. North Carolina, a consensus preseason number one, didn’t even make the tournament with a 20 win season. Why do you think that is? 🧁
