I just got these after returning the Old Skool Emboss ones (too big, stiff and uncomfortable) and I can definitely say these are 100 times better. As someone who’s never had or worn Vans I’m pretty happy with the quality and softness of the shoe, you can definitely find sneakers more comfortable than comfycush but these are great for Vans

Just got mine last week. My first pair of Old Skool. Before, I used to like the idea of getting a Vans shoes, but the lack of comfort stopped me from actually buying them. Converse has been doing the lunar sole since nike bought them out roughly 5-10 years ago mostly in the skate editions or climate editions (one stars, or some models of chucks designed thicker to skate in) and Vans has been doing the “comfort cushion” but only in the vans Pro models otherwise known as “ultra cush” since like early 2009 as far as I know but it is amazing that Vans is bringing it more to the light towards the main crowd it generally changes peoples opinions on how uncomfortable vans are

The only reason Converse chuck 2s have Nike lunarlon is because Nike bought out converse. Vans, amazing and solid company. History is amazing. Originals like he said are uncomfortable after a while of walking or standing. But if you do want vans that are comfy, I suggest buying a pair that have the Ultra Cush. It’s a removable insole. It’s the same as this pair. At first they may be uncomfortable but after giving it time the insole will mold to your foot, making the shoes more comfortable and suitable to you.

I used to skate with nike sb's till now and i can say there is no notably difference between sb dunks and my new sk8 hi's(not even pros). And they look stylish af and sooo easy to style with every type of clothing. İm a very proud owner of sk8 hi's and i can highly recommend it. There is even a mte version with fur on top of ankle support for colder enviroment.

Hey Seth Fowler I actually currently work at Vans and heard you say its made of a rubber outsole but actually it's made of a dense foam, thats why in the video when you compressed at the heal it had a little give to it. Compared to rubber that would have not happen, another thing about this shoe is that it is like the Vans Ultralights but with a rubber bottom instead of an all foam bottom. the insole is made of a memory foam like the memory foam you would see on the back table or wall depending where the memory foam is at. They are overall a great comfortable shoe and I really like them a lot.

I have this shoe. They are lighter, softer and slightly elevated. The original vans are heavy, squished and soles are harder. These are all pluses for this shoe and quite comfortable to walk and live in them.

have you ever tried pro skate vans? they're designed to be more durable and comfortable for skateboarding than the classics, but they're great for casual wear as well. they have a foam insole that's soft and squishy but still has arch support and feels very comfortable for casual wear. I have the black old skool pros, and they have a few visual differences to the classics but feel much more comfortable and supportive, and are also more durable.

Downside: probably don't last as long. Also, board feel is not there. However, these are chill shoes. Not skate shoes. These are for busting your 8 daily hours, going to the grocery store, running errands. So better for walking, working, being comfortable. But get ultracush (pro's) or even classic Vans for skating.

I've got a pair of Sk8-Hi Comfy Cush and they've been amazing. I picked up a pair of the Discovery Save the Tigers pair for real cheap and they were shockingly comfy. The only downside for me now is that you can only order the Comfy Cush directly from Vans. I tried a pair of regular SK8-Hi in a store and they were horrible in comparison.

If you’re a skater you shouldn’t be buying traditional style old skools. They’re like 70% canvas and tear up after a week, maybe less depending on how often you skate. I recommend buying the pig suede old skools for skating. They’re just like any old skool except well...it’s all pig suede, and I’ve had mine for months without any rips. I don’t think they sell them on vans.com anymore but you could definitely find them from another retailer or skate shop online.

Joey Simon you can buy the Vans Ward for $40 from Kohl’s. Looks the exact same as the old skool except it has a tag on the front of the tongue that says “Vans”. Very similar to how Air Jordan 1’s have the jumpan logo on the tongue tag or the tongue tag that says “Nike”.

I have a pair of old school high top Vans in the color back and white they don’t have any special comfort soles in them. I paid I believe over $60 for them brand new from Vans website. I was looking around on the app called Mercari for a pair of Vans slip on shoes for work. I currently have a pair that are black and white I ordered two years ago used from the app called Depop. And since mine have busted soles with holes and rips in the rubber soles on both of the shoes. My fiancé then saw a pair of low top old school Vans sneakers that are in the color peach with a while line and a leave design on them. They have the orthopedic soles inside the shoes. They were brand new with the box and tags for $53. My fiancé said the shoes reminded him of me drinking a Pumpkin Spice Latte coffee from Starbucks in the Fall and told me I had to have those shoes. I was surprised because he is isn’t a fan of Vans shoes and normally doesn’t like the ones I show him.

That being said I hate any shoes that has an arch, only because I don't have an arch and would thus require a more custom progression in arch heigh support over time for it not be a constant distraction and pain induced experience. So I am curious if someone like myself should just pass on these and stick with the originals??? I mean my only qualms with the originals are that the insoles and even the bottom of the shoes frontal soles tend to wear down to where it causes holes and am curious if this newer version fixes that issue, so far have blown through 2 pairs in 2 years both with a similar exploding frontal sole experience. I don't know if it's because I walk with my front of my foot first, much like how ballerinas walk(fun fact was in ballet for 2 years); so that may explain why but I just find it odd conaidering my high school friends tended to have the opposite effect occurring where it was the back, or back sole which usually exploded through or caved in whatever the technical term is I don't know.

I ride bmx and I needed a new pair of riding shoes. I picked up the vans high bmx edition with the ultra cush padding. Easily the best vans shoe I’ve ever owned. Plus they have a special tread for riding on pedals which feels great.

ThatOneT H I C C Pug I own a pair of TnT skate pro vans. They have the exact same elastic band and it does stabilize your feet more. The TnT have ultracush 3D (which is good arch support and removable) and I could not only skate in them all day but wear them all day too. In conclusion, the band does help for skaters
