Great game. The third time I played it all players had played it at least once and it had a really nice flow. The player aids and components are fantastic! Well done CGE, and of course Tomas Holek!

This looked exciting to me when it was announced, glad to hear it lives up! Love the theme.

I've had my eye on this since it was announced. Preordered it as soon as it was available to preorder. Waiting for my game!

It's also a great solo game! I agree that 4 players can drag on when everyone's new to it

I must say I disagree with the issue with the cards. Firstly the player aid is great and so robust that essentially every icon is covered on there, and it is all very intuitive. I turned up to my gaming group late this week due to an train cancellation, so missed the teach, but we just jumped straight in and I was able to pick everything up very quickly from the player aid alone. All the cards are just slight variations/upgrades on the base actions so I don't think they ever need explaining in text.

I guess you live in Germany due to train cancelation 😅

How do you feel about longevity? Seems that several other reviewers think this will get stale very quickly.
@garcipat11 күн бұрын
With 4 players, this game takes 5 hours and I lost several scanning battles because the last player put the same amount of tokens there. it feels very bad and i think its a bad mechanic. it makes it very hard for me to play a second time.

Does Tom pronounce Data that way due to being a Trekkie or is it a Floridian thing?
@thedicetower11 күн бұрын
I think both ways are okay? I don't know know why I say it that way, but you can always assume I'm saying the word wrong.
@baldybeards811111 күн бұрын
Always pronounced that way here in England

@@thedicetowerapologies if the question came off as harsh. Was more intrigued as I’ve only ever heard it that way when referring to Data from Star Trek. Being from the south now living in the PNW I know all about different pronunciations.

@@DrBalmy Oh, no worries! Like I said, I mispronounce so much.

This game's name is really a misnomer. SETI looks for life outside our solar system.

Don´t get me wrong but this game has a lot of similarities with Stellar Horizons.

im a sucker for dual-layer games. it's that simple... add to cart.
@joeferreti944211 күн бұрын
"SETI" really looks more complex than it is, and that is not a good feature for a game. Fiddly rules. Changing up the game with modules is nice, but reading a page of rules twice during the game is not. And the aliens are pretty lackluster, mostly more spots with victory points written on them and some more scoring opportunities with cards and tiles. Really boring! Big stack of singleton cards is nice, but I think in "SETI" the cards are a bit unexciting and same-y. The milestones are implemented in an odd way in "SETI". The scanning seems tedious. Sure, the theme is nice.

Did we give up on player interaction in big releases?

Genuine question: would you like every game to appeal to the same people? Arcs has been a huge hit this year: perfect way to get your interaction fix. Or is this just snark to farm some thumbs?

How is that so unbelievable? If all 3 reviewers like the game then there is not much variability to go around if you go by increments of 0,5.

How many other channels have multiple people scoring a game individually in the same presentation? Those people also likely didn't exclusively play the game together at the same table. Surely you've seen enough examples where the scores are different, sometimes considerably, that you can chalk it up to coincidence. Buuuut I've not been watching much boardgame stuff recently LOL

A conspiracy! 😜
@joeferreti944211 күн бұрын
It's really a bit suspicious and seems lazy. It's probably because they let only those people make the review that are most interested in and hyped about the game.

@@joeferreti9442I for one wouldn't buy a game I'm not interested in, so why would I need to know what people who are not interested in the game have to say?
