Really really great talk. Make SURE you get Bill back ASP after the 2011-12 fly-bys to talk again. So, Enceladus gets pumped by Dione at periapsis, while for poor old Mimas it's just about inclination! I'd love to hear more about the great mystery. How come Enceladus -considering the rate of venting- hasn't run out of water ages ago? Episodic events? Hugh To fly Cassini 25k over Enceladus & 'skeet shoot' the spacecraft (moving platform defunded) & get those clear pictures - genius! Hugh

At the 15:23 mark, we see a slide that illustrates possible layerings of Enceladus. They suggest pressure at the water-rock boundary to be 12 MPa or 10 MPa. This is the pressure in Earth's oceans at depths of 1200m or 1000m. I wonder if it's feasible to have a nuclear powered robotic submarine to melt its way to this region. You'd need a cable about 100km long (and possibly heated) to communicate to the surface.
