Yeh Un Dinon Ki Baat Hai chronicles the adolescent romance between Naina and Sameer. The show explores the magic of 'first love'. Naina a quintessential good girl meets flamboyant Sameer in her school in Ahmedabad. She starts liking him the moment she meets him. But, when she watches Sameer hit another boy she has to tell the truth to the principal of the school. This results in Sameer's suspension and his dislike towards Naina. The same is followed by a series of misunderstanding between Sameer and Naina. In order to avenge his insults Sameer takes a bet with his friends that he will make Naina fall in love with him. What starts as a bet ends up in true love for Sameer as Naina cares for him like no one has ever done. When Naina gets to know about the bet she is heartbroken. Thus, begins Sameer's journey of transformation and penance. This show will be a closer exploration of everyday moments that these two share.

While Vishaka was right about Naina being the practical one and Sameer being the more emotional one, she was wrong about their relationship. It was Naina who taught Sameer how to love and trust. Unlike Sameer who had the freedom to roam around as and when he wished, Naina had to constantly struggle and hide from everyone to call him, meet him and write letters to him. Even after marriage, she stood through thick and thin with him and changed him from a rich spoilt brat to a man who understood the value of hard work and money. Not only that, she mended the relationship between Sameer, his mother and his step dad. Vishaka also under-estimated Sameer when she believed that he was less than Naina, because Sameer / Naina’s love and constant effort in their relationship bridged those differences. They not only became writers together but also became each other’s home.

My first comment after 300 episodes... Vishakha needs an appreciation for understanding naina from deep inside the core, unlike the typical saas of 90's and even today who just want a beautiful puppet for their sons instead of DIL. She didn't reject naina, but she found that both of them were poles apart, one being practical and the other emotional. And often its difficult for people with contrasting personalities to maintain their relationship and etc. She had no problem with naina just was worried about the future problems they would face. But Sameer and Naina they really proved their love and understanding in their marriage later on.
