Sneha Shankar is a very talented singer and I have been viewing her videos ever since she won Asia Singing Superstar title when she was just 10-11 years old but her genre is Ghazal, Sufi, semi-classical and classical in which she excels. Public wants popular songs and tapori songs and they don't appreciate the other types of songs. Sneha was almost on the verge of elimination. She should sing more melodies of Lathaji and Ashaji composed by Madan Mohan, SD Burman, Naushad, CRamchandra, K-A, LP, Ravi etc. Singers who have been singing more of classical type have not gone far in Indian Idol or Saregamapa etc. For example Anjali Gaikwad (she was eliminated), Dnyaneswari Ghadge (came 3rd). Shreya Ghoshal also instills in them a sense of false aura - she said about Sneha - go and mesmerize people! She told Anjana Padmanabhan that she can become a global icon - she did not even reach top 5 in Indian idol 14. winners should be selected by the Judges. Public voting is dicey.
