I still get chills whenever I hear that line 'tum khud toh apni shaadi bacha nhi payi'. In that case the blame goes on the man for not being able to earn enough. Just like Neha-Ranveer case. Ranveer was very badly insulted by Neha and her family. Neha's greed for money just couldn't stop. And no, no matter how much poverty they would have had in childhood, she had no right to first make promises with Ranveer and throw him away like he was nothing, when she came to know the family's financial condition. If poverty were something to be depressed about, then 20 crore people in our country would have been depressed. But thats clearly not the case. Yes Sona faced problems but not all daughter-in-laws face what Sona faced. And similarly not all son-in-laws face what Ranveer faced. So let's not generalise.
