Setitoff 83's comeback is nothing short of remarkable. He's a prime example how bs can come around but you stay focused on transforming your life from a bid in prison then back to making waves in your industry. In an exclusive conversation with Fucious TV, he peeled back the layers of his experiences, sharing the raw and real essence of his past few years experience.
The Prison Experience: A Test of Endurance
Imagine being confined to a cell for 21 hours a day, surrounded by an atmosphere charged with racism and male hostility. That was Setitoff 83's reality for 21 long months. But it wasn't just the physical confinement that tested him; it was the mental battle, the struggle to maintain his sanity in an environment designed to break him. Getting into it with inmates as well as prison authority Set let it be known he won’t go without a fight. He witnessed firsthand the ugly truth of the system, being moved around 4-5 locations and being subjected to degrading treatment and racial slurs were the norm. When asked if people act fanned out while locked up Set says he remembers people acting like they do on the outside..”try and be gangsta”. Overall he knows he is good inside or out.
Amidst this chaos, Setitoff 83 stumbled upon a disturbing revelation - the dark secrets of some of his fellow inmates. His encounter with an older inmate, who was in there never speaking about his crime, was a wake-up call. It made him reevaluate his associations and reinforced the reality that Set has a daughter and doesn't deal with them. Set even shared his thoughts and experiences of his mom who had just came home from an 8 year stint when he had got jammed.
Music: A Beacon of Hope
In the midst of the lows, music was Setitoff 83's beacon of hope. It was his escape, his way of coping with the harsh realities of prison life. He doubled down on his craft. Setitoff told Fucious how using music as a tool to express his emotions and aspirations helped. This creative outlet not only kept his spirits up but also laid the foundation for his comeback in the music industry. Some advice given during the interview was to stay humble when you make it, and don’t try to be gangsta all the time because these CEO’s not going for that all the time.
Upon his release, Setitoff 83 hit the ground running. He dove straight into the music scene, hitting the studio and stacking tracks. Recently going to Miami to party with Rich the Kid, Cardi B, Offset etc. It was this genuine connection of why he remembers why he must go so hard. That comeback may not immediately mean a deal either. After a couple of months of running it up Setit Off 83 says he’s not hurting for no money and thinks it be best if he kept building his brand and name since the labels already interested in him.
Looking Ahead: A Bright Future in Music
Today, Setitoff 83 stands as a Carolina legend. He still claims a lot of these rappers got their flow’s from him which might be true. He's a living proof that it's possible to turn your life around, no matter how crazy the situation may seem. He continues to make strides in the music industry, using his past experiences as fuel for his artistic fire.
As he looks to the future, Setitoff 83 is determined to keep his momentum going. He's focused on his music, working on new projects and collaborations that promise to elevate his career to new heights vs his old ways of thinking the street way first.
