When I played Bayonetta a year ago, I kept wondering why people said it was the best action game ever made. All I saw was a game that punishes hard when you get hit but is still just the "dodge out of the way, combo" gameplay loop and I kept dying somehow. I could never figure out how to not die, how to get good, what there was to master about the game and how to master it. I got a bit better, but all I did was just "dodge, combo. dodge, combo. dodge, combo." I had heard of dodge offset but didn't understand how it could be useful. But after watching this? OHOHOHO BOY. This looks freaking AWESOME. It looks like a choreographed fight scene in a movie. I can't get enough. I can see what it's supposed to look like when you get REALLY good at the game. I mean wow. I now see what the skill ceiling looks and how someone who has reached that skill ceiling plays differently than someone who hasn't. Seriously, this looks amazing. I think I'm convinced. I'll go online and find some guides or tips or something to actually get better because I want to make my gameplay look this good one day. WOW

Hey, this was an awesome read. I'm really glad this vid has given you a new light on Bayonetta. It's funny because there was a time where I had the same mindset as you did. Believe it or not, I HATED this game when I first played it. It was frustrating getting nothing but stone rewards, constantly getting my ass beat and just feeling like I could never replicate those cool combos I saw online. I ended up rage quitting this game as a reresult. It took until the Wonderful 101 for me to see what makes action games tick. There was just something so cathartic about W101 when everything lines up and you pull off crazy combos so I wanted to give Bayonetta a second chance. After reading up on all those guides and viewing what dodge offset was all about, I became hooked and have been playing it nonstop ever since. What you see here is 9 years of effort paying off so be aware, it does take a while to be this good, but that shouldn't detract you from simply enjoying the game. We all had to start somewhere after all. I'm grateful my videos continue to inspire folks like you. If you ever need any help, I did create a new discord group that focuses on talking about Bayonetta from a gameplay point of view. We discuss combos, strategies, tactics and techniques. We also share cool skill videos and it's been helping new player get really good. Come join us! discord.gg/PZsBRwK9M8

oh, sorry. I was my first "first" of all time. I thought it'd be just a bit of light fun. :/ I'll refrain if the opportunity presents itself again in the future.

@@Envoy15 I know it's fun to post "first" in the comments. Normally I wouldn't care much, but you need to see things from my perspective. I don't get a lot of comments for these types of videos since Bayonetta is very niche. What I look for are folks who enjoy these videos I make, so to see someone post "first" purely for no other reason other than to get attention (since you obviously haven't bothered to watch the 20 minute clip), it just feels like all the hard work I do is for nothing.

Those Kinship are always a pain for me to deal with, the way the second one usually appears outside of the camera's view makes it a nightmare lol
@SetnaroX2 жыл бұрын
The kinship are definitely the worst enemies in Bayonetta because they're one of the few enemies that can attack offscreen plus having to jump on them to get any good damage just sucks when they have so much stuff to toss at you.

yo, the breakdance on verse 1 was sick! how did you cancel out of it?
@SetnaroX4 жыл бұрын
That breakdance wasn't just for stylin' either! I used it to extinguish the flames of Ardor before I could melee him :) As for canceling, all you need to do is jump. Works every time.
@NadeemMohsin2 жыл бұрын
@@SetnaroX You can extinguish flaming Ardors?! All this time I had no idea. But how were you sure that he would be extinguished by that point? Is there a set threshold, like 1 or 2 Weaves? Or is it a special interaction between the breakdance and flaming Ardors?
@SetnaroX2 жыл бұрын
@Nadeem Mohsin its just the bullets that remove the fire. Literally all you have to do to get rid of the fire is to shoot them. Breakdancing is just one way to shoot. An easier way to do it is to just use your regular pistol (x button on xbox). Be aware that the enemies can reignite their flames if you don't fight back quickly. twitter.com/SetnaroX/status/964942118404829184?t=AcyhsT7RhQwZ-EfhTMSlxA&s=19

Out of the context How many times did you have to restart verse 5? :) And you disappointed me dude in the double Jeanne fight i expected to see some action I didn’t know the damage out of the fights doesn’t effect the pure platinum score because i was pretty strict about it
@SetnaroX4 жыл бұрын
Only took me two retries and the first one was simply me taking too with the fight. You want to talk endless retries though, that'd be verse 8. Also, it's hard to fight stylishly against Jeanne when she is 1) super aggressive and 2) she tends to be very slippery when you attack her. PlatinumGames knew this which is why most of her battles don't really require a very high score for nabbing the Pure Plat.

Also, c'mon dude, you gotta give me that frame perfect parry stab as the final blow.
