In Poland a very common thing is using an old ice cream box to store parsley and dill in the freezer. It is so characteristic that opening the fridge wanting to eat ice cream and only finding parsley or dill has become a classic meme in Poland

In France it's more often our grand-fathers that store things in ice box, we have quite the same here but we more often find screws and other mechanic small stuff in those if you want the grandma stuff it's the old cookie box indeed, specially in the lower storages of the house ^^

Indonesian here. Our grandparents and or parents will use metal cans with any sweets logo to store chips. Not the snack ones, the one we use to eat soup and anything else Breaks our hearts tbh. Seeing the white chips instead of oreos and chocalate kinda kills our motivation for the day

Poland: Yeah, tailoring stuff for grandmas here usually land in very old cookie cases that were metal. They don't make them like that anymore so this days would probably use ice cream packages :< But berries were in just small, transparent plastic bags so you could easily see it :)

My Grandmother (Midwestern America) has done the same thing her whole life, she finds packaging she likes and ends up using it for various things. Most famous example is a very specific brand of cookie called "Royal Dansk" and used it for tailoring stuff.

In balkan countries they used to hide sarma (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sarma_(food)) in ice cream boxes. You are correct ser Pokerick, every country seems to have their own deep freeze suitable food/ingredient that goes into the ice cream boxes, which probably happened to be made of quality plastic in the standard of those days.

Here in poland we have our own brand of ice cream and parents (and grandmothers) hide frozen dill in it. I was so dissapointed while opening pack of ice cream just to find green shit inside. (I love dill now dw) Also sometimes u can find berries inside. And can of cookies thing is also real.

In Brazil, it's quite common to keep leftover beans in ice cream boxes, and that's not even a grandmother's thing (even I started doing the same thing when I started living alone) xD edit: honestly, I think finding berries in an ice cream box is a lot less frustrating than finding old frozen beans.
