Yes. That's right. The problem, however, is the assumption that one is dealing with a rational actor who will respond to reason and logic.

Thanks for the perfect update. Your videos have been great!! I am one of your viewers and have been watching your videos lately. I would like to invest but I still can't seem to find the right investment to commit to. How do I properly invest in the market and what strategies do I employ to make significant gains and stable cashflow?

in my opinion, some financial situations can be handled on your own if you research enough, while others are best navigated in consultation with a financial specialist

Clara Burn is the best, honestly, I benefit from it too. This inflation has taught people the importance of multiple incomes. Investments help a lot.

The only thing is that this is it normalizes the thinking the free trade means it has to be balanced. The goal of freer trade is to let the market decide where best to produce goods and provide services. On a trade per capital we buy way more from US than they buy from US. But if US insists that it has to be Baka coed it should be based on per capita.

Is it just me not understanding how commerce works, but doesn't the fact that we are about 1/10 the size of our neighbour, isn't it completely understandable that we would buy less from them than they buy from us?
@bonglesnodkins329
@bonglesnodkins329 Сағат бұрын
No, ceteris paribus one would expect roughly the same quantity of purchases in both directions.

I used to work for Flyer industries that make city transit busses in Winnipeg. They sell to American Cities. If there is a 25% tariff then that would be Ok for General motors in the US. However US part supply to Flyer would hert the US .The diesel engines are made in Detroit the axles are US made by Rockwell international. Also I worked in the oil sands of Alberta a lot of earth moving equipment in are made by Catapiller a great American company. Oil sands company can buy earth moving equipment from Japan or Germany.

The two speakers did a wonderful job of using a question and answer format to make the complexities of trade between Canada and the US far less opaque..... although Trump's imaginary number theory still lies beyond their ken. The US citizens can achieve trade "balance" by simply denying themselves the things that they wish to purchase from Canada. They merely have to live with fewer of the lovely things that they adore..... like gas to power their cars, or electricity to light and heat their homes this winter.

Our country has a great tolerance for off shore idiots. This too will pass. We contribute far above our pay grade and understand the meaning of integrity internationally since the Boer War in South Africa (We are familiar with the likes of Leon Musk.) This is a wonderful opportunity for all of us across Canada to find ways to support producers and manufacturers across this incredible country in spite of logistic challenges and poorly constructed cost sharing strategies. I live in St Albert Alberta and look forward to find ways and means of importing product from my favorite Cheese Co-op in St. Albert, Ontario. Maybe the EU might provide assistance.

Canada is going to go through what eastern Europe went through in the 1990's with the collapse in trade with their major economic partner. The US will be successful in clawing the automotive industry and the oil industry back to America.
@Jed-pk6zg
@Jed-pk6zg 22 сағат бұрын
How can they claw back the Oil from Canada? The US uses 20 million barrels per day. The USA needs every drop of Oil it can get from Canada. The type oil Canada produces can only come from Venezuela, Iran, Iraq or Canada (no other country has it).
@WayneRoberts-n5h
@WayneRoberts-n5h 22 сағат бұрын
@Jed-pk6zg they are going retool the US refineries from heavy oil with the revenue from the tarrifs and massively increase production in the arctic to offset the drop in foreign oil. This will give them time to ramp up their production in affordable EV by slow withdrawal from Canadian production. I am not 100% sure but it certainly is possible. Thanks

@@WayneRoberts-n5h I think Trump is really causing a Anti-American uptick here in Canada and around the world. Hopefully we can deal with bully Americans once and for all. They are surely not Canada's friend (or really anyone's friend) anymore. I am all for the Anti-American push here. I will not be spending anytime in that asshole country anytime soon. There are so many countries much better the USA, and I hope we all become allies to work directly against that assH*ole country.

US oil production reached record highs under Biden and there's practically no meaningful impediment to it, but the US is still short a lot of oil. No, destroying the environment of Alaska isn't going to contribute meaningfully. You're addicted to Canadian oil

And Canada is gonna build their own refineries instead of sending to the US. They have one partly built in BC already. Canada will also shift away from trading with US and instead deal with more trustworthy nations
