I can't believe i've found your channel again. I watched your videos religiously when I was first learning to mix over 10 years ago. Thank you!!

A tip: if you want to look for the 0 point adjust the weight untill the tonearm is in horizontal balance. Set the marker of the weight to 0 and after do plus the weight the needle needs like for example 3kg.

3 kg is a lot of tracking force. I suspect that would wear your vinyl out pretty quickly since even 3 grams is consider rather high ;)

I have Reloop Concorde blacks and they've started distorting and skipping after just two years of light enough dj use. I got new needles for them but could use some advice on my settings. Thanks

Awesome! Can the cartridge accept different stylus' within the ortofon range?

But how do you get the overhang and alignment adjusted correctly with these if there's no adjustments? Do we just assume that the tonearm is already perfect?

if you look to the side of the TT you can see if the end of the tone arm is tipping back or forward... if so correct by moving the whole tone arm housing up or down to compensate

Concorde carts are made for the technics arm overhang. Every technics sl 1200 has the same tonearm geometry unless it’s been replaced with a different arm. Therefore, a concorde cart, only has to be suitable to that geometry, because it’s a dj cart that most people won’t use on anything else. Unfortunately, dj turntables that are still made today, like everything in the hanpin series, has different geometry, therefore the concorde isn’t necessarily suitable, but it works well enough for most people anyway.

I have just purchased a brand-new pair of reloop blue needles and I’ve been using the standard head shells since I got my 1210s for a few years and been perfect I’ve followed this setup :( ... it says the tracking weight is 4g? but it all sounds distorted and terrible and I’ve no idea why ....

Make sure you’ve set the height correctly and then find the zero weight point. Concordes will generally run ok at 3.5 as it’s within the recommended range

No you never. He failed to mention that you turn it to required measurement by only using the front part of the weight. Good vids all arounf though.

3-4g is usually what is recommended by Ortofon.

3-5g. Although I find my Pro S works best at around 3.75.

I've got those, seem exactly the same as SL-1200, it is owned by the same company afterall. (pioneer)

@@DJGorny94 It isn't "just a SL 1200 MK2" The pitch control is digital on the Pioneer - Digital pitch controls are HORRIBLE to mix with. I'd honestly take a cheap pair of old belt drives with analogue pitch control than a new digital pitch Pioneer. I really with companies would go back to analogue pitch controls as I hate digital pitch controls with a passion!!!
