This video is a good opportunity to do a deeper dive into maintaining and cleaning filters. There's a lot of myth and mis-info about this. You should make a video dispelling and informing about optical filters. I just cleaned mine and it turns out its not too hard and they're not really that fragile either. Would be great content I think

I agree.

I can guide through the L Ultimate at F4.5. I’ll have to try your out of focus trick though

I now wear gloves because I have a knack for touching them when I'm trying not to touch them. I'm in light pollution (bortle 6). I have heard I should get a narrow OIII (3nm), a wider Ha (5nm), and something around 12nm for Sii due to not having much signal. Is this good advice? I got the OII but not sure if I should switch my 7nm Ha & SII ZWO for a better or just live with them since they seem to be doing the job. I was getting halos so changed to the Antlia OIII.. I just got the Elephant Trunk and it came out well so maybe I'll just keep what I have. You look like you are doing well! I wish you and your family well.

Using a wider Sii filter will not actually net you more signal from Sii. The actual transmission zone for each of the three bands is 2.5nm apox. So going wider only gets more broadband signal that you have to process out.

Great video and great advice. I do have a question though. I have managed to get my filters dirty. I didn’t wear gloves and I laid it flat. Do you have advice or tips on how I can clean them? A cleaning video would be awesome

Lens cleaners will do fine. There are many astro products for this. Remember to spray the cleaner not he cloth not the lens.

I really want to dive into Mono again. I had the 1600 and the "294mm"but have settled on the trusty 2600MC. Now I am splitting channels Lol.

Cool. Could you 3D print the threads for the 1-1/4” filters?
@TheNarrowbandChannel3 ай бұрын
Yes I was able to. They were a bit tight but I used ASA so inside threads are tighter.

Dualband filters as “luminance”?! You would be missing blue… how does this work on galaxies?

I am not imaging with it. Just using it to collect another data point for guiding.
