One thing worth noting with the saitek/logitec throttle is that, while it has a detent like the throttle in this video, the point below the detent is just a switch rather than being part of the potentiometer range. In other words, its zero point seems to be at the detent and bringing it below the detent seems to be basically an on/off switch that has its own mapping in x plane, so much of this video doesn't really apply.

Thanks for mentioning this. I was wondering how you would add throttle when you are in reverse to increase the stopping power. If you add throttle using the method described, the props would go back to positive pitch and cause the A/C to speed up instead of slowing down. I think I'll use the throttle detent for Beta and the button below each throttle for reverse so I can then increase power on my Logitech throttles. I'm still a bit confused about the detents on the props however if the throttle detents control Beta.

@@Topcat1952 What I did, which actually worked quite well, is I mapped the bottom button region to 'toggle reversers'. What that does is it changes the lever such that what would normally increase throttle, will instead increase reversers. You use the reversers as needed,then toggle back to normal thrust the same way. Works for both jet engines, as well as turboprop.

Very helpful video! I just dragged my old CH throttle quadrant out of the box it was packed in and need to set it up for X-Plane. Haven't used it for several years and have never used it with XP. I mainly fly the XP default Baron and the quadrant should add some more fun to that.

Nice video. How do you set up Thrustmaster Warthog throttle, or any 2 Handles throttle to work with a Boeing 747 or any 4 Engine airplane? The throttle only operates Engine number 1 and 2. Thanks for the help.

Question. I use FaceTrack with xplane but only works with 3D panel view. Can be possible to use panoramic view with no panel only the outside but able to use it with headtracking and eliminating the need of three monitors. Thank you

Interesting however not actually the case on the Saitek/Logitech kit. The lever travel is from 0.0 to 1.00 whether you have the "Gate" programmed or not. Past the gate, you only activate a switch, no modulation. When you set the Quadrant on the Saitek/Logitech product, you need to set a point forward of the stop/gate as your reverse point and do the same for the BETA otherwise, no reverse modulation. The CLA (Condition "Red" lever) will provide Cut-Off at 0.0 without going over the gate and the Prop Lever will provide Feather at 0.0, again without going over the gate. I use the BETA-REVERSE setting to get a modulable BETA range to save the brakes (PC-12 and KA-350) but leave the other two levers as they are. This applies only to the Saitek as far as I know as this is what I have.

I just ordered the honeycomb bravo throttle control for my xplane to use on my mac. My OS is Catalina. Is it fully compatible with my mac? I don't see many reviews using the mac and noticed the download is not clear on how to install?

I can't seem to get this right. I have a Honeycomb Bravo Throttle Quadrant and the problem for me is, where the mixture is at 0 is all the way at the bottom of the travel of the lever, IE without the detent at the bottom. The detent at the bottom is acting as if it is an entirely separate button, and it even shows up as a separate button in the controls. I am doing what you are saying but for some reason on my setup it won't work. I even reset the profile for the TQ, and still no fix. How do I get past this.

Hey Michael, I love your channel and all the videos you do with Austin (especially). I recently bought the honeycomb bravo and trying to set the mixture and throttle to mimic the levers of my Epic E1000 from Aerobask. I did not manage to replicate what you and Austin were demonstrating with the TQ6 in this video. In your Bravo unboxing video, you mentioned you were getting Austin to do a review on the Bravo, did you manage to do that? I might have missed it if you did. Any chance you can tell me how would you replicate what you did in this video on the Bravo? Thank you and keep up the good work!

This works well for the Virtual Fly T Q. Can Austin have a look at the Saitek throttle quadrant that I think most xplane users have? As xplane is not setup for it. BEFORE I get to the indent on my saitek TQ the lines have already traveled all the way to the far left of that box to zero passing the beta zone and into the reverse. It would be nice to have this fixed for saitek users.

Hello Austin, I meet an issue with my Throttle quadrant and X-Plane 11 and I don’t find the solution. I am flying a PC12 model (that is fantastic) but I don’t manage to set the Throttle Quadrant for the reverse position. If I select customization of the response curve then select inverter/beta option, I see that in the plane it is working like it has to do, but the ground position in the plane correspond to 25% of the throttle quadrant position. I would like to understand what to do to correspond the ground position in the plane with the 0% of the throttle quadrant position, then how to set the inverter mode with the red part under the 0 position on the throttle quadrant position. I really hope you understand what I mean because actually, this is absolutely not convenient to have the ground position at 25% of the throttle position. To resume, flight position must be between 100% and 0% of the throttle quadrant, then the ground position (that include reverse mode) must be below the 0% of the throttle, on the red part. Don't working for me. Have a saitek TQ and somehow modes are not changing from 1 (direct) 2 (beta) 3 (reverse). They remain at zero (0) value. Prop pitch is not changing and throttles are going forward when I reach the point where they suposed to enter beta range. What am I doing wrong?

I believe that throttle has a "button" when you fully deflect it down past the detent. I think you can program that button to be reverse.

What absolute crap are you talking xplane is great out of the box and the scenery can be made for free with ortho tiles and the clouds etc can be upgraded for free also. there are lots of good quality freeware planes airports etc. I used to be a fsx/p3d fanatic i have spent hundreds on addons etc active sky orbx pmdg etc and i think i have spent maybe €150 on xplane total and it looks 100x better than p3d does with hundreds of pounds in addons i have xp11 and p3d 4.5 installed and the last time i fired up p3d must have been 6months ago it is junk compared to xp with freeware and a few payware planes.
