@@jiffsterkoi Excellent, like to hear that. Mine will obviously be for indoors use as well. It will be used with my polycarbonate sheets in place, obviously with a hole for the food to go in. Does the food get spat ‘out’ the way, or more ‘down’ the way? And finally (I think 🤣) I still need fairly quite small feeds, did you reckon it could be as little as a teaspoon measure ? Don’t suppose you ever tried catching the amount a small feed puts out and weighing it? 🤣 If not don’t worry, I’m seriously NOT asking you to go and do that. Thanks for your time Mike…. 🙏 👍🏼

@@AndysKoiPuddle hi Andy I think the smallest portion is about a teaspoon and yes the food drops out below the spout so it will be perfect if it is over a hole I am thinking of covering mine as I have started getting condensation now the outside temps have dropped 👍🏼

@@jiffsterkoi Ideal Mike, thanks for that mate…. 👍🏼 Yes, your condensation will only get massively worse this time of the year mate. If you don’t want to cover the pond, you need to heat the air in the indoor area, by at least 2 degree’s higher than the what the water temperature will be at anytime of the day etc to event condensation. 👍🏼

I only have 3 KOI in my 500 gallon tank which is in a dome greenhouse. Does it have a setting that is low enough to dispurse the food for 3 KOI? They are 8” approximately.

Hi yea the minimum setting should work for you quite well depending what size pellets you use You could pick up a small aquarium feeder that could be suitable and are cheaper 👍🏼👍🏼

Hi Mike, I have the same feeder. I also use the frequent feed mode but I seem to have an issue in that as far as I can make out, the amount you can select to feed whilst in frequent feed isn't adjustable 🤷‍♂️ it simply dispenses 1 unit of food for each feed. The way I tested it was set the feed units to 5 and set it to the standard 3 feeds per day setting. In this mode it dispensed 5 units of food per feed. In frequent mode, if I set it to feed 3 times, each one of those feeds is only 1 unit of food, as opposed to 5. I'd like to here your thoughts on this on whether I'm doing something wrong or if it's faulty🤷‍♂️🙂 because this issue for me is why I'm considering another feeder as I can't get enough food in and spread those feeds far enough apart.

You can feed more than 1 unit whichever way you're using it. It needs to be set for each programme, though please watch Jolley Koi's video 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

@ACKoi I have watched it and still cant figure it. You don't set each programme in frequent feed, it's literally a start and end time and how many total units of food you want to feed for that period. So if it's an 8hr feeding window and you set it to dispense 8 feeds over that time, it will feed every hour and dispense about 10g per feed depending on the density of the pellet being fed🤷‍♂️ I understand how to feed more in standard mode but frequent feed just won't allow me to, say for example feed 2 units/20g of food on every feed throughout the feeding window. Even the instruction manual for the feeder says it dispenses a single unit of food every feed😵‍💫 for me, feeding more throughout the day isn't the issue, the issue is the more you set it to feed, the time between feeding intervals is reduced which I don't particularly like as it causes issues with digestion if they are fed too often.

Hi si It works for me I have it set to feed from 6.30 -10pm ish I know have it set to feed 10 times in that period and currently use serving 3 for the volume as 1 was too low for the 10 fish in my grow on That can be set from 1-10 10 being the greater serving per sitting Not sure why yours won’t do that maybe they have been upgraded I have instructions buddy let me know il take a photo for you and send you them. @@jiffsterkoi Hi, Thanks for the video. Just got mine a few days ago, and I cannot find within the manual (be it in French or English) the right way to increase the unit size. I use frequent feeding 8 times a day, every 2 hours from 7am, but the amount of food each time is too small for the 20 fishes I have (33kL; young koi, roughly 3m long in total). I know how to shorten the delay in between every distribution, but I would rather double or tripple each amount. I can easily do that within the 3 meal program, but 3 is not enough... Any advice? thanks for your help
