Dude! So first off, the snake is adorable and I'm pretty new to your channel but I'm already in love with all of your designs. Second, please say yes if Disney ever asks to make a movie based on your terrariums. I keep seeing a group of animals who come out of their cages at night to hang out and get into shenanigans while the guy who builds the tanks, "the Builder" is away.

Awesome video! You present some clever solutions to challenges posed by keeping active snakes or lizards in naturalistic vivariums. Well done! I'm planning to get an eastern indigo snake soon and looking to try a naturalistic setup, and this definitely gives me some new ideas.

Love this & Learned a lot! I had a Redtail for 13 years. When I bought Thor he was about 12-13 inches. He grew roughly a foot per year. Looking back I wish I had been a little more creative with his enclosure. Thinking about getting another Retail. This time I plan on building an enclosure for its future growth and size. Thanks for the tutorial! 😎🤔😎

I keep 2 corn snakes in modificated tubs (one of the long side has been removed to glass, by me). I use pots with mosquito mesh too (just not with rubber band, I used zipties), about the digging. But I use springtails, and isopods too, with a bunch of leaf litter, sticks, and branches. I like it this way, cause the snake has some more thing to react (snakes and isopods are not harm to each other, so why not?). These little buggers are so cute, every time when Iam handling the snakes, change watter, adding more leaf, or just watching the terrariums they always pop up, I love them so much. And last but not least less cleaning is nessesary, with the cleaning crew I minimized the cleaning of the snake tubs.

You should drill a hole beneath every plant and encircle each with a dam of silicone (2-inches in radius larger to the pots). install plumbing for each hole. Its a better alternative than to have water to trickle down into just one drain.

One way you can sterilize large pieces of wood that are too large to boil or bake is to wash and scrub thoroughly. Then you can place them in a vehicle parked in direct sunlight with the windows up. In the summer months temperatures can exceed 200°F. I leave them in there 4 to 5 hours during the hottest part of the day. I've done this with large pieces of slab rocks and after a few hours you can't handle them with your bare hands.

I have been keeping snakes for 16 years now. I have a columbian red tail boa and 2 ball pythons. I would love to create a natural terrarium like this for them some day. But with large powerful snakes they tend to destroy everything. This is an awesome setup though. Very inspiring and informative.

I've watched several of your videos, and I see you really take great pride and joy in making the best enclosures possible for your animals. I'm having a difficult time finding the other video where you explain more of the whys and what ifs and the because ofs with this enclosure versus quite a few of the other ones I've seen on your channel. I have an African Fire Skink, they're a tropical lizard, and unlike the king snake where they can burrow, but spend a lot of time on the surface, my lizard spends most of it's time burrowed in the substrate. Ideally, I want to figure out a way to give him a bioactive enclosure, with lots of live plants, but I'm not sure how to make that possible. What are the biggest challenges, and setbacks you've faced, for making a bioactive enclosure for a burrowing reptile, and how do you think that could be made possible? I understand the practicality of this enclosure, but the idealist in me wants to find a way. I love my lizard dearly, and I really do want to give him the best home I possibly can. And I must say, you and your channel have given me the most information, and the most inspiration I'm come across, to actually be able to do something better about my lizard's home.
