That timer can also be setup the same way in timer settings and works with percentage of throttle stick and also assign a switch . I also make a button my timer reset on my transmitter. With having open source, there are many ways of doing the same things. Also another cool thing is instant trim, don't have to fiddle with trims to trim your plane out. Just one button does it all

I didn’t show it in this video, but I use a set of functions that will keep throttle hold enabled until throttle stick is all the way down and then the switch is flipped. This avoids flipping throttle cut off while the throttle stick is up. This just happened to me on my DX9 just this week. Luckily, I was hand launching so the prop was away from me. On the Radiomaster, I key off of that function for the timer as well.

Thanks! Great Video, very informative. I just bought the Radiomaster Boxer, my first winged radio. The Zorro and boxer both work the same way as far as setup goes.

Also when you set up SAFE switch you don't have to do it in Inputs and mixes. I set mine up in mixes only and works fine.

Yeah, that’s one of the things I really like about opentx/edgeTX is that there always seems to be at least two ways to set something up, and sometimes several more ways.

You don't need to put the antenna up on the transmitter. I leave mine flat or in stored condition.

I’ve experienced more warnings with my antenna in the down position. When I forgot to put it up, I’ll realize it pretty quick because the transmitter starts barking at me.

Very helpful. Thank you. I have a Zorro and have it bound to and properly configured to use with a Spektrum AR630 rx, in a delta wing plane. However, I cannot get the SAFE/AS3X to function, tho it was bound and "activated" using a Spektrum radio for its initial bind. Can you please help me?

Some seemed to have simply assigned channel five, others have had success using a bind plug, which I don't have, but am willing to buy, if that's the trick.

The safe channel may not necessarily be on channel five. Depending on how it was set up, it could be on any channel from 5 up to ...well, I don't know how high, but whatever Spektrum radio you used, that would be the upper limit. So if it was a DX9, I'd try assigning your chosen switch to each channel from 5 to 9 and see if SAFE activates.

or if you still have the Spektrum radio, you could watch the channel monitor and see which channel the SAFE switch is sending a signal on.

is this the first time binding the S2 to a radio or has it already been bound to another radio before? Also you might want to make sure the radio isn't too close the the aircraft when you're binding. Try to keep it a few feet away.

I am using Zorro to fly my OMP M2 helicopters. I bought the RTF version and i had 2 other M2 helicopters i wanted to fly with this transmitter. I copied the original M2 model and created 2 more models for each of the new helicopters to bind to, but i realize the other day that once i have bound the helicopters they will initialize to any of the OMP models in the translmitter. Does this make sense?

You don't need wizard,the flight controller will take care of that.I put my throttle cut in special functions easy easy.

yeah, I no longer use the Wizard, but for some reason I think at the time it was easier to use it than not on that version of EdgeTX I was on at the time. I also put my throttle cut in special functions now, but I've also made it a bit more featured so that you can't enable the motor if the throttle stick isn't all the way down. EdgeTX is great though because you can do things so many different ways and each of them will work.

You don't need the Wizard unless you want to make changes. Just create a new model and go straight to mixes

Numerous attempts to bind to sketrum...the module in the radio does not send the signals from AETR to TAER...throttle keeps getting sent to elevator...about ready to wall bash the zorro...

Hi Chip. I haven't encountered that issue so my suggestions may be useless, but first, check to make sure you not ticking the "No Ch. map" box, and second, are you 100% positive you're running the AETR firmware version, and third, in the radio, on the mix screen, throttle is going to channel 3.

One more thing I thought about is to make sure that in your transmitter SYS settings, the channel order is set to AETR and that you hadn't changed it, like I did originally, to TAER

@@MarlonMoyer I tried quite a few of the options to see if it had an effect...it did not. Even physically moving the receiver to servo cables. The radio still sent the throttle out through channel three. I assigned the mixes to AETR and it is working as it should....I have to assign AETR on the mix tab for each spektrum RX. It works, but not just simply plug and play. The other protocols work easily without the extra step.

Hows can i know the RX battery indicator?

on the Ultrix there's a telemetry value called EVIN which is the voltage the receiver is getting from the battery. Other receivers might or might no report that, or have it named something different.

Ok quick question, which Zorro do I need. I'm flying the little mini warbirds from eachine but I also plan on buying some UMX elite planes and a blade 150 heli and an omp M2. Do I need the multi protocol or the edge and or open tx? Really confused LoL

You will want to get the Zorro 4-in-1 version. This version allows you to fly the widest variety of RC receivers. Keep in mind that the 4-in-1 is not the same as the CC2500. EdgeTX and OpenTX are both operating systems for open source radios like the Zorro. Either one will work, but my preference would be EdgeTX as it has more development momentum behind it. All Zorro models ship with EdgeTX preinstalled

@@ant-man1131 I don't have a Jumper T Lite to compare it with, but my main reason for sticking with the Zorro over it would be the number of switches and sliders available on the Zorro. I'm already hitting up against the limit when I use my Zorro for a plane that has flaps and retracts so I wouldn't want any fewer switches.

I too have a collection of little warbird remotes from before getting the Zorro. In the last few years, I've been collecting UMX flyers, and trust when I say, 3S changes things The Zorro will serve you well

​@@rhysespeacethe Zorro has changed everything for me and I'm now flying 3s with my ultrix600 and I also have a hobbyking f16 on4s. MY favorites are still my mini p51 s, I only use the gyro for landing on windy days and they are so aerobatic especially snap rolls!

How can i set up flaps in the transmitter? Im buying a umx turbo timber evo and i want to set up the flaps.

Hi Jorge, flaps are very similar to most other controls. So first you’d create an input named FLP and assign a switch. I like the B switch for this since it’s a 3 position one. Then you’d go to mixes and on channel 6 (this is normally the flap channel on spektrum planes) long press the roller. Name it FLP, the source would be FLP. Scroll down until you get to “Slow up” and “Slow dn” and set your desired delay value. This will be the time in seconds it takes to go from all the way up to all the way down. I use 1.5 seconds.

And in the umx manual says Set FLAP SYSTEM: SELECT SWITCH POS 0: -100% FLAP 0% Elevator POS 1: 0% FLAP 17% Elevator POS 2: 100% FLAP 30% Elevator How do i do this?
