You guys are awesome, hard workers. I enjoy watching your videos. Lets all be supportive without being critical, we don't know what all kind of work Country Road Cure did on this same day. We should just let Gary & Mel deal with any family issues IF there are any to be dealt with at all, let's just be supportive and watch... and ENJOY! :)

NICE 'score' on the pallets. I used to get pallets and 4X10 'skids' for free but now that wood is worth its weight in salt I now have to pay a few pennies for 'em. It's a lot of 'separating' work but I now only take, (and pay for), oak pallets and skids. With a Harbor Freight planer and table saw I can still make beautiful flooring, siding, cutting boards, and counter tops for cheap. IMHO, "Yer doing A GREAT JOB while learning". Best of success and God Bless...~Eli.

great job you guys. Just a bit of advice about them blue pallets though. Chep pallets used to add rodent poison into the blue paint to kill off the rats around the sawmills where they were made, so if the dogs start chewing them, watch out. Stay safe you guys

Hola! Hey I lived in the Fort Smith area for 28 years ( Dardanelle/Russellville/Clarksville/Oark area now ) anyway.... I hate to see anyone spend more money than they need to so for any future building projects please please please shop SUTHERLAND’S Lumber etc in Ft Smith first- this is where most of the locals shop. They have the best prices, best service and the best garden center too! For the record I’m not affiliated with them in anyway shape or form.

I just started watching your videos after my other half got interested after seeing your visit to the Crockers. Live near Pryor and watched you during the meet and greet. I have been watching you now for just a few days and I have come to respect you and your family. In this video you seemed a little sad. I moved from California to Oklahoma and was hard for me to adjust to the climate. 20 years later and I love this climate. Rainy season is almost over. May always bring lots of rain. Keep your heads up. You are in a good place. God has his hand on you. He sees you, and has you back. Rest and relax until the rain is gone. A brighter day is coming!

Hi Mel and Gary, I love your videos so much today I watched it twice. Here is the company that I was telling you about that has the kind of machine that you guys might be able to get in Arkansas as a rental. The company that has it that I saw is called Faust Foresty Mulching Machine. I saw the beginning and finished property, what a transformation! I saw it being used on Cog Hill Family Farm. The family was thrilled and speechless when they saw that machine save them months of work clearing out all the underbrush and leaves on the ground into a pristine clear cut they could now walk peacefully wherever they wanted on their property. They made the comment outloud that hiring this guy to clear out ALL THE UNDERBRUSH AND SMALL TREES THEY PICKED OUT TO BE CUT AND MULCHEd was the best decision that they made in all their marriage! They already have their dream home and chicken farm in Alabama but brought more acreage for gardens. Here is the rest they put up: hhtps//facebook.com/FFmulcher

Mel and Gary things will get better this is a wetter than normal spring. We are getting a lot of rain here in Houston as well. Not sure the cost of gravel in Arkansas, but in Missouri we can get a load 20 tons for about $65 depending on the distance. A load of 2 inch for the base and then a load of minus gravel. Minus has lot or power so when you wet it down it turns to almost concrete on top of the 2 inch. Then dig a ditch behind your travel to direct the water away. You might to dig a small anyway to help direct the water away. Everyone pinches in it wont take long at all. You guys are differently hard workers!

@ Simple Life Reclaimed I think Timothy Sharar has a good idea with the grass carpet and staples. Maybe put the pallets solid in between the two trailers and the grass carpet stapled down would make good for walking on...not slippery if it did get a bit damp. Just a thought.

3/4 xxx plywood was 19.99 before the pandemic. Now 64 bucks is crazy. I got a sawmill that's home made so if Gary can weld he can build one for about 1500.00 dollars just look online for his ideas. Biggest cost is the 20 up or 24 up motor. You will be surprised at how nice the rough sawn lumber is. Take your time at what ever you build plan it out so you can get multiple use out of the building. Happy trails from New Hampshire

Your wood chipper is a great tool to control mud to a degree. You may need to get decomposed granite or 1/4 minus self compact soil to fully fix the issue for the long haul. Love what you guys are doing!! Wish we were doing the same 👍👍. You might consider a saw mill, initially pricey but it will pay for itself in the long run for all building projects. Lumber is horrible so you might consider using some of the timber on your 40 acres.
