Yes! And a lot more coming!! Actually from what I heard they do fairly okay in groups. Males can sometimes be territorial but from what I’m hearing from people who have been keeping them longer than I have they generally keep them in groups in grow tents. I think I will probably keep them in trios unless I feel I need to separate them.

@@daffysreptiles what reptile would you recommend for a 15 gallon?
@daffysreptiles2 жыл бұрын
@@_invertico_ You could do quite a few species with a 15 Gallon! For example a small colony of Stenodactylus or Heteronotia would do great in a 15 Gal. If you’re looking for a larger sized gecko a pictus gecko (Paroedura picta). Another awesome option would be to get a conversion kit and make it an arboreal enclosure. A 15 gallon would become a 12x12x24 and you could do quite a few arboreal species in there!

Great Video on Mountain Horned Dragons. I don't see them in the Pet Trade much anymore. Are they still around in terms of availability? Do I pretty much have to order them on line if I wanted one?
@daffysreptiles Жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching! Yea they are not as common as they used to be. The ones you do find are largely still wild caught and generally don’t do too well acclimating to captivity. A bunch of people here in Canada and in the US have gotten together breeding groups in the last year so hopefully we will be seeing CB babies more frequently soon. Till then your best bet is to ask your local reptile store to keep their eye out for one!
@CJoefarhat Жыл бұрын
Great little tutorial!! So if you don't want to go with the isopods. Then you would just have to maintain their substrate when needed? Also on the waterfall I'm assuming you have to clean that often, due to them defecating and laying in it? Thanks
@daffysreptiles Жыл бұрын
Thank you! That’s right, even with the isopods I still spot clean when I see any poop. Without them I would check more often and completely replace the substrate when needed. And yes! You are right hahaha needs to be taken out and cleaned very often which is why in larger setups I usually for proper paludarium with filtered water or water bowls with bubblers in them that are more easily accessible than this is!

Can 2 capra mountain horned lizard live in a 85 gallon tank
@daffysreptiles5 ай бұрын
It would depend on the shape/ type of tank. If you are talking about an aquarium I wouldn’t recommend it as it could be hard to get the right ventilation & air flow for them in that type of setup. They also are arboreal and need lots of climbing space so you would need a vertical more arboreal type of setup than an aquarium! 85 gallons in a vertical setup would be enough space for 2 capras tho!

The species in this video is Acanthosaura lepidogaster! Unfortunately not much info on MHD in general online. For this species I would say you could do a trio in a 18x18x36 larger for more. For any of the larger species you need a minimum of 36x18x36. A lot of people use grow tents. And ofcourse bigger is always better!
@Beauregardreptiles2 жыл бұрын
When they are fully grown , what size vivarium do they need?
@daffysreptiles2 жыл бұрын
For Acanthosaura lepidogaster I think an 18x18x36 can probably house a pair. For any of the larger species an 18x18x36 is considered the minimum for one adult although I think they’ll do better with even more space. As always the bigger the better!
