I didn't know you guys had a channel! I was just looking at some pods for my truck and thinking about reviewing them....

I'll be doing the same soon. Hope you used some sound deadening and closed cell foam behind them.

Set the probe on the oscilloscope to about 30/40 3 then x10 which is what he is doing to see that nice clean signal also this one is not 35 bucks a much cheaper one is though this is is 80+ because so many people like this guy use them. How did you connect to RCAS with oscilloscope did you customize your rods with RCAs on the end or you just shoved them in the rca jack thanks buddy great video

Did you adjust the HPF & LPF before or after setting up the gains?

Hey there, do you all make panels for the Ford Flex? I have two of them. they need subs bad, but I can't lose space

Do you have them for my 2013 Subaru BRZ limited

I don't know about everybody else but I think it would be easier for me to understand if you just use extra music so we could hear what it sounded like. I'm trying to run for 6x5s onto a DS-18 800 watt amp and for some reason the noise was barely audible I don't know what I did wrong or what

Setting gains by ear can be done, but it is not recommended for a couple reasons: 1. It is LOUD, 2. You can still get clipping if not done properly and damage your speakers, 3. If your amp is overrated for the speakers you need to set the gains lower to match. Possible reasons for not getting output to your speakers: 1. Crossover settings are incorrect (either in the amp or head unit), 2. Using the incorrect head unit output (sub instead of front/rear), 3. No power to amp (bad power wire run, loose wire etc) some amps will pass signal through without being amplified (not sure about your amp).

You should probably mention the headunit settings for maximum unclipped volume. I am guessing you ran everything Flat? Correct me if im wrong but An increase above 0 or flat response in treble, bass, or equalizer settings can clip your signal sooner. Same with loudness if the radio has that feature.

Very good point. The head unit was set flat for this test. The lack of 'clipping' on the head unit was slightly annoying for this video since I wanted to convey how important finding the clip point of the head unit is.

How do you set your crossover settings on your head unit
@customspeakerpods50783 ай бұрын
For this test everything was flat. Crossover settings will have to be another video.

Suggestion - run through the process once before filming so you already have your numbers and calculations and results known before hand. You'll end up with a more "professional" video, because now you can add things like humor to keep the audience engaged and entertained while still teaching and sharing the knowledge you have. Which by the way, thanks for taking the time to do that.

Thanks for the suggestion! I ran through it a bunch beforehand. As I do more videos I'll hopefully get better.

What multimeter was that?
@customspeakerpods50783 ай бұрын
It is a multimeter with Oscilloscope function. I purchased it on Amazon a while ago. Apparently the name Luimy doesn't exist there anymore, but the product is there... at least one that looks identical.

am i the only that gets anoyed when people mount tweeters near the floor? sound stage on that should be perty bad.... why not put the 2 tweeters on the A pilar....?
@customspeakerpods50783 ай бұрын
Yes. Yes, you are.
@VirtuousWarrior-wr2fvАй бұрын
Not everyone is using a DSP in order to time align and ect so tweeters in the A pillars actually sounds good. Unless you have awesome passive crossovers or use a DSP, a component system with the woofers doen low and tweeters up high will sound like crap. They aren't doing much better down low in the doors for your ears but without a digital processor there isn't much choice. My JL components, 2 woofers in customspeakerpod pods in each front door, that have been caked in resin and deadening with cc foam behind them, and 2 of 4 tweets one in each factory a pillar surface mounted, took a few hours to get to SQ with my JL twk 88. Most don't use a DSP so the doors it must be.

Everyone knows you need a DD-1 to set gains properly 😂
