Does the steps per rotation change when the diameter changes or does it stay the same?
@mrbill86862 жыл бұрын
Once you set it, you shouldn’t have to change it. You just update your object diameter or circumference

How do you go about leveling your cup? Or don't you??
@mrbill8686 Жыл бұрын
I just put shims underneath until it’s level. But I have since upgraded to the PiBurn Grip.

When you are measuring for the diameter of your cup are you using the widest diameter of the cup or the opening for the lid. And also the circumference, if your graphic went from the base of the wine tumbler to the lid what measurements would you use. Thanks for the video I have the exact setup as you so this was very helpful

I use the widest diameter of where I plan on engraving at. If it has a slight taper, then it shouldn't really affect it. However, if it's a moderate or heavy taper or drop in the cup shape, then that complicates things. As far as the measurement on the wine tumbler, I went with the diameter of the widest part of the cup and it auto populated the circumference. Then I just measured where the wide part was to the top of the painted portion of the cup and centered the laser halfway between. I'm not sure if that answered your question or not, but I'm glad the video was able to help.

I noticed that in Lightburn when you did the bure for the step check you had a camera view. Does the 1420 have a built in cam like the Laserbox does?
@mrbill86863 жыл бұрын
No I had to buy the camera separate from Lightburn and install in the machine.

Hi Bill , what is the correct procedure for removing the rotary , second time I used it and needed tech support to reset , after unplugging and restarting my Y axis will only come forward 350 mm
@StripingWithBill4 жыл бұрын
Make sure everything is turned off then disconnect the cord on the rotary and reattach the cord that was originally plugged in for the y axis. Then turn everything on. Then go to the tools tab and rotary settings and make sure that the chuck is not enabled. Let me know if that works. If not, I’ll do another video.

Does it have to be a rotary from boss laser or can you install a rotary from amazon?
@mrbill86863 жыл бұрын
It should generally be the same process but I cannot confirm that as I have only used the boss one. Sorry I couldn't provide a better answer.
