Setting up Openwebrx +

Hi Danny and thanks for the feedback! It is a lot easier to get oOpenwebrx going with the RTL dongle. It is of course possible with the SDR Play devices and once they are set up they work well. Problem is you need to install the API file and they don't make it easy. I had a few issues to start with. I guess it depends how good you are with the RPi OS or Linux- in my case I am not too good :)

Is it possible to add a new frequency, quick, or do you have to make a new profile? Making it more like kiwisdr with the decoding options would be great

Not as yet. It can be very tricky to get SDRplay devices working with openwebrx. My own Linux installation has recently failed and I can't figure out why. Bottom line is I don't have the knowledge at the moment at least!

I’m about to do this. I take it you’ve to install the Pi OS image first or can you just install the SDR software straight into the card without it ??

Just install the Openwebrx software directly on the sd card

⁠@@KevinOReillyswlI gave this ago today .. For some reason it took ages for my WiFi network to see the RPi. I then tried to connect my Airspy R2 to it. That didn’t work. Apparently you have to configure the Airspy to make it work. No clue how to do that. Have ordered a cheap RTL dongle, as apparently that is just plug and play.

The SDR Dongle is the easiest to use. It is possible to set up the SDR play but its not straighforward.
