Here is a short guide on configuring the ENC28J60 module connected to a V500 Vampire Accelerator. The drivers and a guide for connecting the ENC28J60 module are available from: wiki.apollo-accelerators.com/...

That's blazing fast compared to the painfully slow speeds I was getting via the pre-configured Coffin ethernet. I might give this a try! Great job Ronnie :-)

Check the existing settings first. The wiki has some defaults which are sensible: wiki.apollo-accelerators.com/doku.php/expansionport#driver_installation_and_configuration But adding SPISPEED=1 might bring some improvements. Also, really check that the module you have is really a 3.3v module. I got sold either a defective device or a 5v module. It worked for a few minutes but really, really slowly. Then it just stopped after that. Keeping all cables as short as possible is also helpful. i.e. the cabling between the ENC28J60 and the vampire as well as the ethernet cable. These modules aren't going to give you the full support of 100m/300foot cables like a run-of-the-mill network card.

BTW just thought I would update and say for the V4SA this works just changed the device name to v4net.device and it works with the Vampire 4SA built in Ethernet port.

Any chance of doing this for the V4SA? I can't imagine it would be much different .. they use the v4net.device instead of the v2expeth.device driver ..
