Really pleased you found it helpful. I have another one on the 16IZ which is a new transmitter. You can do all the configuration from the TX, but have to plug a lead in from TX direct to gyro. Good luck. They are great gyros.

Hi Martin. Glad the video helped. It feels pretty strange taking your hands off the sticks while doing knife edge, but also pretty cool seeing the gyro work. There is a Shorts video showing it. I’ll try and capture some more soon. Let me know when you have more questions. Will do my best to answer. Happy New Year to you and yours.

I've now recorded the setup on a T16IZ - kzbin.info/www/bejne/roq6hoacrcahsKM ----------- Hi, I’m adding this comment to the top as it may help others. If you are using the T16IZ or the 32MZ then you can configure all of the gyro settings from the TX. However you have to connect the TX to the gyro via a lead to access some of them. It’s not done wirelessly So it looks like you can’t go into the ‘Basic Menu’ on the GYA553 screen which is accessed via Aeroplane > Gyro Setting > Start > Basic Menu The wire goes from the back of the TX to the P.Box port on the gyro. Note it goes to P.Box and not the SBUS2 connection. The lead has to be disconnected with the Gyro and TX both turned off! If you are using the lead it should show the Config page now. With out the lead it won’t, it will appear locked out.

No problem. I might do one covering the T16IZ soon. It would be good to show all the configuration via the transmitter.

Omg this helps soo much! Looks like i am having the same issues you did before with the function setup. I had no clue about this! I believe since i didnt do this its the main reason why i dont have access in my 16iz main menu for Gyro settings. Meaning when i click on gryo setting the next page is unhighlighted for change. Currently, you can view the setting but the software won't let you make any changes. So its like your locked 🔒 out untill you configure correctly. I will check this tonight when i get home and confirm this.. once again thank you so much for the time and energy spent to make this video. Now for the questions. 1. Before i installed my gyro i set end points on my 16IZ now that i connected all the wires from the reciever to the gyro seems like my end points are messed up. Also my dual rate switch is outta wack and doesnt function probably. Im sure theres a question in this statement lol.... any idea whats going on there. 2. In the gyro settings. AVCS AND NORMAL. One you said was stable flight and the other you said it was for i assume windiee conditions. But which one is heading hold. Maybe i need to re watch more carefully. 3. Should i not worry about the conditions and just group everything rather then put single. The concept is still new to me and trying to grasp it. From global to single condition as well as it have a seperate menu for lol. Think theres a question there as well haha.

Hey, I’ll do my best to respond, hopefully we can work this out together. Firstly, you have the Futaba 16iz, so I’m presuming you can do all gyro configuration via the TX, which saves loads of time and messing about with the two tiny buttons on the gyro. I’ve just downloaded the TX manual, for others its here: futabausa.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/16iZ_ENG_Full_Letter.pdf I’m presuming you have tapped the INH to enable the Rate, in the Gyro screen? As this might be why it appears as locked. In response to your questions: 1. I’m not sure why your endpoints would be different, is this a case of needing to use the Neutral Offset now you are running via the gyro?. However I think the gyro will override the using the Limit Setting. I think this means if the Limit settings is more on the gyro then the gyro will travel to that limit rather than your dual rate. I might be wrong here but worth checking. 2. I have Rate 1 set to 0 (zero) which is basically Gyro Off because I wanted to be able to take off with it effectively off, then switch in the other two modes. Rate 2 is therefore “normal” gyro mode, it will correct in windy conditions. Rate 3 is the only mode that I’m using AVCS. That’s the rate I am using when I put the plane into knife edge and take my hands off the transmitter. It holds the heading and keeps the rudder applied. Pretty cool! 3. I am using conditions for different flight modes, on this model its F3A, 3D and 3D Max are the conditions I have programmed. Which basically just change the amount of movement each control surface has and expo. These are all set to Single. The gyro, on each rate is set to Group, as shown in the video. Does that help?

Matt Again, I want to thank you for your videos. They been very helpful. I want to ask you this question have you use the Gyro yet? And if you have how well does it work on the plane?
@MattTakharRC Жыл бұрын
Hi. You’re welcome, thanks for the feedback. Yes, I have two of these gyros know. One in the small Skywing laser, which I’ve used a lot. I’ve also just put one in my Extreme Flight Laser, but not flown it yet. However I did put one in my friends 85” Extreme Flight Extra and it works very well, it really has changed the plane. Is rolls much nice.

@@MattTakharRC Hi Matt - nothing wrong with your video. Trying to set the neutral offset for the elevator and I get one movement but can't determine of pressing the Mode and/or Data switches incrementally changes the neutral progressively or in one movement determines where it is and then I have to mechanically adjust the rod to align the elevator. I get one movement...

@@Bus429 ah I see. It is tricky to do that via the buttons. I’ve not had to try yet. The 16IZ does make it much easier as you can see it all on the TX screen.

Found another question on mapping(function). So the back of the instructions shows the channel mapping for the gryo but does it have to be those channels can I use lets say channels 6-10 for example to map to the switch since everything works under the sbus port. I ask cause i have my lights already mapped out on channel 5 and in your video it shows channel 5 is the first gyro function.
@MattTakharRC2 жыл бұрын
Hi, good question. In my experience I think it has to be those channel numbers. I originally had my Aileron 2 mapped to a different channel and had to change it to match CH6. Before I swapped it to CH6 only one aileron would work when the gyro was on, which was Aileron 1 as it was already mapped and connected to CH1 Hope that makes sense!

Great video on the gyro setup. I have a question. Have you had any issues with signal loss and/or range check problems with the Futaba transmitter? Futaba has always been known for very high quality.
@MattTakharRC Жыл бұрын
Hi, sorry I lost your comment and have only just found it. Never had an issue with signal strength on Futaba TX/RX. A friend once did, however we put that down to the RX wires being too close to the carbon inside the fuselage.

How do you mean with Bounce back? Something I noticed recently is the Gyro overrides the limits on the control surfaces. You have to be careful with this.
