That looks perfect for my new tank! Where did you get the 90° knuckles from? I would prefer a solid black pipe, knuckles etc so they match the side's and back of the tank. Why do they use white and clear? They stick out like a sore thumb IMO! Thanks for sharing such a handy video👍😷👍

you could turn that into a reverse-flow UGF very easily and never have to worry about nasty gravel

​@2WistedWolf That's when the water is being pumped into the undergravel filter lift tube instead of sucking water through it. For example, the output of the power is placed into the tube instead of the intake. The current of water passes through under the filter plates and out through the layer of gravel.

​@@2WistedWolf A sponge filter is usually put on the intake of the powerhead. Reverse flow works best with canister filters where the output is connected to the undergravel filter and the intake sucks waste into the filter. I've never done reverse flow before but I'm just stating the stuff according to research. You can Google it. There are even videos about it here on KZbin.

How easy is it to pick up one of the panels and put it back when it is in the tank after you moved gravel over if you needed to get under it for whatever reason? I'm considering getting this filter.

You shouldn't have to go under them unless you slack on vacuuming gravel, if you stay up with that, they won't get dirty enough on the bottom to warrant moving everything.

UGF are great filters. Using a powerhead with UGF is not good. With increased waterflow the UGF becomes a mechanical filter trapping waste. For proper biological functions it better to slow down water flow using air bubbles. In a correct water flow rate the UGF can even turn NO3 to nitrogen gas.

@@deathlessgore Double filtration is all fine. But ammonia waste from the fish is converted to nitrite and nitrate only. In a slow flow UFG ammonia is converted to nitrite, nitrate and finally to nitrogen gas. So nitrates in the aquarium is kept in check . Better stability
