Brian, I m happy to tell you that I finally got this set-up on my PC then into my I-Phone with your instructions and it works perfectly. I can now listen at work through my phone and get the same reception as at home. Sooo cool!

That was a very detailed and extremely helpful setup tutorial for cell phone access! Thank you so much for your video! I had so much trouble setting up cell phone access to the SDS200, that I subscribed instead to "Broadcastify," and it works well on my cell phone. With your mentioning that Android phones might provide spotty performance, I'm thinking seriously about sticking with "Broadcasify" due to the low $60.00 annual cost. But, your excellent tutorial tempts me to set things up on the SDS200 to see how well it will work with my Android phone. Thanks again!!! Great Job!!!

Just set out to connect my SDS200 to a webserver and found this video. Thank you! It was tricky as hell and there were a few missteps and some intuition needed but it is working right now to my iPhone. Only thing is I don't see the metadata or an option to adjust the sync between audio and video though on my iPhone I'm not seeing sync issue. On my desktop using Edge I have a sync issue.

Would be a hell of a lot easier to connect the pro scan software to Zello using VB audios virtual cable and the vox feature in Zello. I have done this with SDRs and get may be at the most 100 ms of lag

So 2 things first one being is I have the scanner set for the offset volume at +3 , the volume is turned down to zero but I can still hear the audio and it then creates an echo because I am listening to it on my cell phone in the other room. Second thing is I am not able to connect to my feed using my 2.4/5ghz, or 5ghz I can only open it on a browser when on the 2.4 band why is this ?

Hi Brian, Thanks for your amazing video tutorial! It was great! Now, let me ask you a question which came across my mind: why would anyone prefer to connect its scanner through a web server and suffer from a huge audio delay, unsecured connection by default, and some other major drawbacks (as I see them) like limited control over the scanner and having to connect the computer to ip Static, when after step 1 after connecting the scanner to Proscan including audio, you can log in from the smartphone to the computer via TeamViewer, open Proscan and enjoy audio without delay, full control of your device and without any need for static IP? For the single user, what are the benefits of by connecting via a web server compared to a direct and secure connection with TeamViewer? Thanks in advance, you are a great presentor!
@DroneFarmer3 жыл бұрын
I don't really see a 10 second delay in audio to be that big of a deal. TeamViewer might be a good option but it opens up your server to other types of security vulnerabilities which may allow far greater consequences than being able to control your scanner. ProScan recently added full https support to their webserver which is a great improvement. Having the ability to use the webserver does come with the drawback of limited control options, especially when factoring in the delay, however when used in a set and forget application I think its simplicity makes it a much better option than remote desktop clients. But I do admit that I still use RDC to connect to the server to make changes, update the program or access my recordings.

Looking at my router set up I think all my IP Address are static. When I hit add a client it mentions add static client IP. That is my guess.
@DroneFarmer4 жыл бұрын
I mentioned two ways to set a static IP. And you do that because you don’t want the IP to change within your network. Sometimes routers have a tendency to reassign IP addresses. Auto DHCP does that.

Do you know if I can utilize the USB port on the front of the scanner to install a USB wireless adapter to put the scanner onto Wifi, rather than having to use a hardwired LAN connection cable between the scanner and the router? My scanner location isn't close to my router. I know the BCD536HP has a wireless dongle for this purpose, and it works well, as I have a BCD536HP connected to the internet via the dongle rather than having to hard wire a LAN cable between the BCD536HP scanner and the router.
@DroneFarmer3 жыл бұрын
No. The usb-a on the front is basically a useless addition as far as I know. However, they do make Ethernet port wireless adapters which I’ve heard do work with this device.

Why not set up ProScan on your internal network and use a program like Chrome Remotr Desktop to access the computer your scanner is connected to remotely? Is there a reason the scanner must be a network device, or can it plug directly into the computer on which ProScan is installed?
@DroneFarmer4 жыл бұрын
I’m not sure how you would plug the scanner in directly to the computer. The device is set up for audio to be routed through the network, not through any kind of usb connection. You could indeed plug it in as a serial device via usb to control it, then plug in the audio via 3.5mm analog, however doing that would introduce some really bad noise, which is 100% absent when the audio leaving the device is digital to begin with.
@jgiercyk4 жыл бұрын
@@DroneFarmer I'm a little surprised that the SDS200 does not allow for audio to be passed via USB. All amateur gear today allows for a connection from the radio to a PC via USB to send and receive audio. SDRs provide audio to a PC via a USB interface. It seems a little strange to me that Uniden would not have created such an interface, but instead use a hardwired LAN connection to get audio to the computer via your home network. It seems like we're over thinking it.

@Brian or anyone who cn help. When I left my home, away from my wifi, I could no longer receive the transmission, Why? How do I fix this?
@DroneFarmer3 жыл бұрын
Did you set up port forward and dns properly? Port forward is done from your router. This is what enables the network to route traffic to the specific pc that the program is operating on. For example, I use port 5000. Set up a dns. This basically takes your public IP address and turns it into a url like “www.Ilovedthesds200.ddns.net” then you add your port to the end of that with the “::” followed by the port number such as “5000”. First, outside of your WiFi you need your public ip address (google “what’s my ip” from within your network. Add in the double colons (“::”) and the port number that you are sending the traffic.

STATIC IP..... A LTTLE CONFUSING. COULD YOU EXPLAIN FOR AN OLD GUY/
@DroneFarmer Жыл бұрын
Static IP means your router won’t issue anything but the IP you tell it to issue. This is important because as devices connect and disconnect they don’t always get issued the same IP. Because you have a computer on the other end that needs to know the IP of the scanner, you don’t want the scanner getting issued a different IP than what you tell your computer.
