Setting up your Launchpad X in FL Studio

Bruh this video is straight up false advertising. This not a setup specifically for FL studio, this is a generic midi controller setup for the launchpad x that just so happens to be in FL. The deception of naming the video what y'all did and then to very quietly mention how the workflow shown is in Ableton and not FL Studio is wild. Buyer beware, the Novation Launchpad X is still a bungled mess in FL Studio as of February 2024.

This is a tutorial video rather than an advert, that's hosted here on KZbin for inclusion in our 'Easy Start' hub - customer.focusritegroup.com/en/getstarted/begin/AX Launchpad X is primarily designed to function as a controller for Ableton Live, it comes with Ableton Live Lite and many of its features, such as Clip and Scene Launching, are reliant on the use of that particular DAW. When used with other DAWs, functionality will differ but generally speaking, Launchpad X is able to transmit MIDI for plug-in control, as demonstrated here, you can also work with the fixed Scale Mode and the Custom Modes. We're not aware that Image-Line has provided any specific integration for Launchpad X, but there are user-created scripts available that expand functionality that you might want to explore - forum.image-line.com/viewtopic.php?t=321464#p1920296 If you're looking for a dedicated FL Studio controller, you might also want to check out our FLkey range which we created in close collaboration with Image-Line. - novationmusic.com/flkey

Hi when I press the "custom" button and then "volume", the pattern screen doesn't come out like you do in the video. come, can I do?

Good but why not just add launchpad x as an option in midi?

Whilst Launchpad X can be selected as a MIDI Input/output device, as shown here, FL Studio doesn't natively feature a dedicated script but there is a Launchpad X script available from the Image-Line forum: forum.image-line.com/viewtopic.php?t=321464

Not quite. As shown here, Launchpad X will function when used as a generic controller with FL Studio and it can also transmit MIDI for use in any DAW this way. Launchpad is a controller for Ableton Live and it comes bundled with Ableton Live Lite. We'd suggest that you try that if you want to fully utilise Launchpad X and all of its features. The Image-Line team don't appear to have added dedicated integration for Launchpad X to FL Studio, but they do provide a free script that will expand its functionality.
