We ended the stream talking about the Tomb Kings and naval warfare. Without their need to breathe, perhaps Settra has spent the last several hundred/thousand years conquering the bottom of the ocean. Possible fish people introduction to the Old World…

I think it would be funny if the tomb kings went out to sea, got their shit kicked in, sunk into a fishmen city and then got their shit kicked in again.

Real world issue is water pressure. There is an interesting scene in the animated series on The Mummy… yeah that was a thing… where the Conner family is on a submarine with Imhotep on the other hull. He is almost crushed and has to let go.

I really like the new Superchat format, where you take them at the end of each segment. Allows you guys to answer questions (and highlight jokes) but without getting sidetracked as much

8:00 The story of Nehek the king 1:08:00 This shows how bold Settra really is. 1:33:00 NUMAS, A TOMB KING CITY, HAS LIVING CITIZENS THAT FARM AND TRADE AND SUBMIT TO THE TOMB KING THERE!!! 😱😱😱✅ 1:36:30 The mortuary cult's set up in ancient Nehekara and why the kings in Nehekara built humongous pyramids and buried their armies with them so they would thrive in the afterlife until they come back to the mortal world with a gold and perfect body. 1:41:00 Why Nehekaran cities are called tomb cities. 1:47:00 the insane chaos of yhe awakening of all the tomb kings except Settra 1:50:00 KHATEP IS OVER 1300 YEARS OLD ??? +Arkhan the Black's assault on Khemri and the awakening of Settra. Also Settra legendary rage of the morterary cult's failure to give him his perfect immortal golden body and kingdom. 1:58:00 Settra teaches himself; a non-magic user, how to use magic. 2:10:40 The many things Settra did after he woke up 2:14:05 Settra gives Nagash one of his worst defeats ever. 3:17:40 What happens when our biology is removed and only our intelligence remains❓❓❓ 3:27:30 The people in Nehekara without burial rights did not come back correctly. 3:29:00 Araby doesn't like the Tomb Kings at all.

Just got done watching the video. My question would be now that the galleons graveyard (Maelstrom) exists and since the tomb kings are "dead" would an invasion of the Elven Island be deemed to risky for the fear of the boat sinking and their troops being swept away or since they can move on their own would they not risk being drawn in?

Thank you for the truly perfect answer about how important satire is to warhammer fantasy. It would be a truly terrible loss for the setting if the satire was toned down or worse yet, lost.

I firmly believe that Settra isn’t evil. As much as Settra is tyrannical, so were the other Priest Kings. Unifying Nehekhara and ending their infighting and civil conflicts created an era of prosperity for the people- all the people- of Nehekhara. Numerous times we see Settra sacrifice for his people such as offering his sons - his lineage- to end the drought in Khemri. As despotic as Settra was, his desire to live forever just as much stems from a want to prevent Nehekhara from the infighting and factionalism that divided it. He is more comparable to the enlightened monarchs of our own history such as your Peter the Greats or your Narpoleons. He represented the people of Khemri though not any individual person. He was both beloved and feared in equal measure and that’s what separates him from the Vampires or Nagash as he does care for the living and all of his subjects, just not for each one individually

For me he is similar to Dr Doom from Marvel, a good but implacable ruler, extremely high ego, the strenght to back it up and devouring ambition.

Nice stream, definitely getting the Doctor Doom vibes, or about him being (in D&D alignment speak) classic Lawful Evil. I'd be pretty surprised if Iron Maiden's Powerslave wasn't an influence on the character, too. I loved the idea of the arrogant Tomb kings being galled and furious at the arch-necromancer for his betrayal and dedicated to taking him down. A pity the End Times ended that, but at least Settra got some great lines off it. He's one of the few characters who really showed off in the entire mess.

I know that superchats are how you make a buck, but the previous stream demonstrated that aggregating them at the end works better. The trail of thought and general flow is just more structured without you guys getting distracted or derailed with the KZbin/Twitch bullshit or some extremely forced 'joke' attempts by certain patrons. Or fucking dumb questions about 'power levels', for that matter.

man returning with almost 4 hours can't say that didn't make me happy. my personal view of if the gods blessed him i think the gods might have seen him as a necessery evil as he is the only one who actually united nehekara after all and lets be honest the desert gods doesn't seem to care to much as long as they are worshipped that or maybe as a culture death wasn't a big deal untill settra.

The more i delve into warhammer fantasy writing, the more i realize how bad and cheap almost all of it is... It's like listening to the break down of a DM running his 2nd campaign. Why is there such a gulf between 40k writing and fantasy? Not saying 40k writing is the cream of the crop by any means.. but lord, it's becoming more and more noticeable now "bullet pointy" all the fantasy series are. I think listening to you talk to Andy is actually making me like this setting less. This feels weird.
