Setup hardware synth in FL20 as a plugin! (2021)

The pan knob in fl is assinged to the wave knob of microfreak wich is why the sound went from a sinewave to a triangle wave . Just disable the send pan in the midi out (there is a triangle on the bottom right of the midi out vst) if you want to stop it reseting the sound every time you press spacebar

How did you route your hardware sythn to your midi controller to fl? Did you use midi 5pin to your controller & then from your controller you used usb to the computer? Is your controller the master or the sythn? & how r u getting both audio & midi notes into fl? Is there a way without converting one or the other via Edison?

Why is the channel set to mic/line 5 though? I have my interface and synth hooked up via usb but none of the channel inputs allow any sound when I’m hooked to my interface . I can only get it to work without out my interface . It only shows my uad inputs when I’m hooked up to my interface but my hardware is connected usb cable not to my interface 🙃

I ran into the issue of recording a grand piano with my synth. But when I wanted to record a bass line, I couldn’t change the instrument on the synth without also changing the instrument of the recording. Guess I’ll have to start recording into Edison before hand, thanks!

How do you stop the playback from external synths from being sluggish and jittery? When I sequence external instruments they play back choppy and some of the notes play late.

Use a smaller ASIO buffer size.

@@SpeccyMan tried that from smallest to larger, 0 change..connected synth thru MIDI directly, and tried over USB.. no hubs or any thing..no difference..but when I use Logic and sequence notes in all of those connection configurations…seamless perfect playback together in combination with Plugins and audio tracks..so..idk why FL is like that..even tried it with a different computer ..same issue.

I have sounds from a hardware synths and I can also use the piano Roll with the sounds.. but recording dont work. I dont have any sound.. yet, the settings are correct I think (midi in/out, audio settings)

Incomplete tutorial as he left out the bit about assigning MIDI OUT controls to CC on the Microfreak so you can control its filter. That opens up the possibility of using automation in FL Studio to control your hardware. I do it all the time with my Bass Station II.

I'm new to FL studio. I've bought the producer edition because I want to record from a hardware synth (Novation Mininova), as well as using VST's. I am also using a Arturia Minifuse Audio interface, and a Midiman midi inteface. I cannot get FL to show either my keyboard or the midi interface in the MIDI options. I keep getting the error message. The specified device is already in use. Wait until it is free and try again. Please help

@ksager123 Nada. I think a midi adapter is needed to run inline from the midi in and midi out to an interface or directly to your pc. It won't work with the USB B connector.

@@Gelato__33Of course it is, if your synth doesn't support USB MIDI. Luckily, USB MIDI interfaces are cheap (and don't need to be high quality, as opposed to your audio interface). You just connect MIDI in and MIDI out, and it'll work like a charm.
