Sharad Chhetri thank you for this video you shared. I found it enlightening. I do have some questions though, as I have been seeking a solution similar to this. I noticed in your video around the time of 28m47sec that you had some syntax on the screen in the rsyslog.conf file: _$FileOwner syslog_ _$FileGroup adm_ _$FileCreateMode 0755_ ... ... etc... _ But my files (*even though I am running CentOS*) do not have that syntax in them. Are those syntax lines critical? Are they uniquely provided and required by Ubuntu but not CentOS? Thank you, Warron

Very useful with clear explainations.. Sharad how can we add our custom logs to sync to server... example we do have a webapplication running in tomcat that creates a log & we want to sync the log to server.... Thanks in advance

Hi Akshay, to add more logs work on rsyslog conf files. Read this official doc and check the example given at bottom of page www.rsyslog.com/doc/v8-stable/configuration/modules/imfile.html

I already tried it now but can't find a way to show host available or any syslog messages on the syslog UI of cacti .. please help me ... :)

HI Sharad, The video was good but I felt like there was no need of showing all the process of installing the new version of the rsyslog. You could have said like u should have latest version if not download the latest from the link in the description. Because of this your video has became boring and out of the scope. It depend upon how you take my views about this video - Positively Or Negatively.
