I think James (spot light) should drop the panels so that the bottom of them slightly overlap the top of the three monitors, then put leds on the back of the monitors and have three posters/pictures spaced evenly above the panels. That would look awesome. Great set up though and great vid as always.

Found your channel a few months ago, and got the sudden urge to get my own setup. Played a long time on my ps4 downstairs, and finally bought my own console (Xbox one) and now starting to build my own gaming setup. What was triggering me so much about the setup spotlight one was definitely how the monitors were just misaligned, just take a look, the left monitor is blocking the left speaker just a little bit and the right one is blocking half of the speaker. Then, take a look at 8:07 , this issue can clearly be seen here. It just triggers my OCD and I quite got surprised that Ed didn't mention it in the video.

Hey that’s my setup, yes I totally agree. The monitors mounts I used where garbage. I did manage to get them aligned in person but as you have spotted for some reason the speakers underneath are different. It’s really odd don’t get why it’s happened

the speaker stacking thing is perfectly normal. stacking monitors is usually used for saving space and helps with mixing as you can swap between both types to see how your mix sounds from two different sound sources.

Aren't those "shelves" the plants in Hugo's set up sitting on actually his speakers? You can see the wire raceway on the left side make a 90 degree turn to the speaker from the door frame.

On Scott's setup I think you missed something minor, but it is something you mention it in a lot setups. The top monitor can be flipped so the thinner bezel is closer to the lower monitor. Still, awesome set up, love that wall color.

thanks for liking my setup buddy, to be honest the only real reason the top monitor wasn't flipped was due to the lengths of the cables, was happy with how it was though so didn't bother buying longer ones 😂

I have to say I love Dom and Hugo's setups the most and I love this series. Before I started watching you (as well as a few others) I was blissfully unaware that I had a problem... I didn't care about cable management to the point of where I didn't mind walking over them to get to the light switch. Now I'm so OCD over it before I even started building my new computer (seven year old one broke down... I now realize over time mistakes were made like fan orientation and something called dual channel memory, don't worry I got it right this time) I just had to tackle all of the spaghetti behind my TV. Now that I'm aware while I don't have the most expensive setup I now have two cable raceways running behind my desk and a power strip mounted on it, a bunch of cable clips under it and even in my new build there are barely any visible cables (did what I could with a $70 case so some cables are visible but it is mostly clean). I even have a bunch of things leftover and considering my desk isn't a corner desk and more of like an island setup it's nice looking under it and seeing no cables on the floor.

L brackets are industry standard for kitchen islands. Good one can hold 500 kg if well installed to a wood stud. They are also very sleek.

Vahid's setup definitely looked cool, but the acoustics of that room won't be good for mixing. They'd be perfectly fine for recording seeing as he seems to be only doing direct in, but carpet only absorbs the high frequencies, and his 2 absorption/diffuser panels aren't enough to really do much. He has a LOT of blank space on the walls, and he hasn't treated his first reflection points. You definitely were right about the speakers being stacked being bad for audio. It will cause unwanted resonate frequencies to ring out. His room will probably be very bass heavy with a few frequencies way over represented, and a few way under represented. Great start, but definitely has some work to do! Proper sound treatment is among the best bang for your buck upgrades! Also, that isn't a full sized keyboard, it's a 49 key where as full sized is 88. Honestly, 49 key is typically all you need for production, unless you're trying to imitate an actual piano, but just had to point that out.

And i have it over my monitors so it blocks out my typing sounds :) works awesome
