In Kenya if you sing in English you wouldn't trend coz most people prefer to listen to swahili music.. English is only for few people like khaligraph 🤣I think most songs you have listened if they are sang in English they must add one swahili word so that people can identify them as a kenyans

After MI took a break from music, we had that problem. Indigenous rap ruled. Even on University campuses, you could drop all the punchlines you want but people would still say the battle rapper who batted in indigenous language won even tho he did not drop a single punchline. But with MI coming back and dragging other English rappers with him, the scene has largely changed. The indigenous guys now do more of Afrobeats and highlife.
