I remember that Langer had been leading at halfway, and everyone thought he was just going to carry on & repeat his dominant performance of twelve months earlier. But he didn't; in fact, this was pretty much the very day he developed the yips once again. This week was the start of Seve's really good spell in 1988 - he won in America two weeks after this, and the rest we know!

Pro golf had a different feel to it back then. It was almost magical then. Can't explain what it was but it has gone now. I'm glad I lived through it. Amazing times that have long gone.
