This is genuinely one of the best movies ever made. It's so energetic and so thematic

This ain't your typical action movie. The first 2 and a half hours spends itself in a personal drama building up character traits and development before we get into action, which provides a slow yet effective buildup to the climactic battle with the samurais and the pirates. Plus the fighting does not begin even at the start aside from a few minor brawls and training, there are no action sequences until 15 or 10 minutes after the intermission so the best way to watch this movie, is you have to do a lot of research first before you appreciate it. Once you do, you will enjoy the 7 samurai in the best ways possible without getting bored during the first half. Tips aside, this is a very good movie and is worth 3 and a half hours of your time.

The samurai are not depicted as heroes, only those who choose to fight. If u said the seven, then you'd be correct, but the film shows how samurai, like people, came in all shades of character and duty.
