Thanks for the video. Good information! Another interesting fact: According to a display at my audiologist’s office, 65% of people with hearing loss are under the age of 65! Seems surprising at first, but when you think about it…not so much so

Hey, i am 18 and i found this video very interesting. I had a surgery to repair a hole in my eardrum (i forgot how to spell the type of surgery😅 this happened when i was 6yo) and i had to get that done 2x in my left ear because it wouldn't heal. Fast-forward years later my parents were concerned with my hearing and i hadn't been to audiologist in years and they said that i would benefit from a hearing aid and i am so happy to say that i have never heard better and i do in fact fall less because that was an issue when i was little due to the surgeries.

I’ve had a tympanoplasty,. In my right ear, they’re actually supposedly 99.9% successful, being that you follow post op instructions.. mine was successful and healed perfectly

Hi I love your channel. I am 17 and just got hearing aids due to some medical issues and genetics. Do you have any tips on how to get used to my hearing aids?

Wear them during all waking hours. Take breaks as needed but the more you wear them, it gives your brain and body the time needed to get used to them. Ensure your aids are comfortable to wear sound and fit wise. If not, let your audiologist know and get the changes made asap. I hope that helps!

Safe treatment option: go to a licensed audiologist and get fit with top tier recommended hearing devices. Don’t hesitate to get a second opinion.

Cost, cost, cost. Maybe the OTC makers could offer a stripped down version entry level aid. With the cost of everything these days. I can see the cost being the single largest obstacle. Especially when the buyer is unsure of stepping into this new world. I will say, my aids are the best thing thats happened in my life. Second best is Emily's videos, I kinda feel like the preacher is talking about me, jk.

Yes costs are rising. :P I find there are sooo many hearing device options. Someone definitely does offer a stripped down aid but it won’t work for everyone. There’s no one size fits all option. :/
