Just two random facts to prove how cool he was: He was already sick with cancer when Digimon Tri was announced, and Bandai was seriously considering another singer. Wada was like "fuck no. I will do my best to please the fans, they deserve my best, so I'll give it too!". And on August 1st, 2015 (Digimon Day), he was unable to perform due to his sickness, so he wrote a lengthy letter apologising to all of his fans, and asked fellow singer Ayumi Miyazaki to read that letter live on the celebration.

It.. unfortunately wasn't. They had to pull the vocals from a previous recording he did for this song. His last song he performed for the series was "Butter-fly tri. Ver.". By the point they had intended to do this song, he was not able to sing anymore. In fact, if you listen to his vocals for Butter-fly on tri., you can hear him gasping a bit while he's singing... I remember pointing that out and was hoping I was hearing things, but I guess I wasn't... It was obvious something wasn't right when he was unable to show up at the August Digimon event a couple years back... I wish that last bout of Cancer he went through hadn't done him in. Seriously, screw cancer. :(
