I had this exact problem today. Needed to remove a T10 Torx security bolt but only had regular torx bits. The bolt was recessed and also very tight so none of the methods in your video would work. I ended up using a small flathead screwdriver and a hammer and gently knocked the centre pin at an angle until it broke off. Turned the T10 from a security bolt to a regular bolt.

All very well doing these on a screw that is already loose 🙂

The reason these security bolts are so inexpensive is because they don't work.

Thanks. The hot glue options looks messy 😂Also most of these methods assume easy access to the screw and ability to apply significant force in some cases. What if the screw is in a fairly hard to reach place and you can’t hammer on it with a wooden dovel and hammer. Or get to it with pliers or dremel.

Ok mr 1 ft-lbs of torque, you could turn those bolts loose with your eye lashes smh. Only like one of these methods realistically would work and it’s viscrips and cutting the screw lol

Idk if you are torquing down the security screws on your electronics enclosures you might be the problem

@@tomgarside480 99% the hot glue/pen/wood method won't work... You need to have a real loose screw for it to get it out.
