This is a really good game - it has both simplicity and strategic depth which are always good for a board game. Might have to get it! At first glance some things seem a little unbalanced, though, but maybe I just don't know enough about how to play it yet.

It's a very good game, ranked 9th best game overall on boardgamegeek, and holder of quite a few awards. There are powerful cards and card combinations but I wouldn't call them unbalanced. Either player has an equal chance at accessing any card, and once both players know the game well enough to recognize them there are options to counter most strategies. I would recommend it.

The Piraeus is the harbor of Athens. It was notable because A: it was an absolutely massive harbor and B: the pathway (roughly 2 miles) was enclosed by the Long Wall.

It really wasn't that impressive, I think (re: not certain at all) that it was at most 10 feet high. It was purely so soldiers couldn't climb in to attack the supplies being shipped in and was likely built with a war with Sparta in mind, who Athens maintained naval supremacy over.

all I am saying is that it was probably the dock itself that makes it a wonder, not the wall. Also Athens failed to maintain naval supremacy against Sparta, which is why they lost in the end

I dont think you played right the resourses trade. The storages lets you pay 1+1g for each resourse which your opponent produces on gray and brown cards. WIthout storage u pay 2+1 for each resourse etc...

Not really. The storages set the price of resources to exactly 1 gold. Period. It doesn't matter how many resources of that kind your opponent has. I understand the rulebook might be a little misleading, though.
