Man, I was just saying this. His music has been, and will always be maybe just a touch more important than many other songs that I’ve ever listened to, but like you said, they fit like a puzzle piece 🧩 into such a beautiful but maybe sad, or hard, time in life…and then it maybe turns not so beautiful, and more sad, and Seven Lions has always been able to feel that emotional connection to something out in the world, the universe, whatever….that is special to his music only. I have consistently cried for unknown reasons (subconsciously I guess I knew what was going on, but in the moment I couldn’t have told you why a song just made me bawl my eyes out as a grown man) but the man has a gift. It is like therapy. I’m always left after the first listen just sort of collecting myself and wondering why in the fuck I just bawled my eyes out…and then some memory, or a few moments of life filter through, and there’s that sad feeling of remembering, then the happy feeling of the memories, then the sad feeling again because you can’t make memories with those people anymore. It’s so weird. The hook line is so weirdly on point for other issues that have been going on personally for me recently too, and the overall combination is just a beautiful mess of good music, joy, sadness, vibing with the beat, and I don’t think any other artist in this space aside from Porter Robinson, has ever done that with their music. Seven Lions, Madeon and Porter Robinson need to get a trifecta tour going stat.

This was such a gut-punch fucking song dude… 😢 I’ve been a Seven Lions diehard from the very beginning, and his sound has only gotten more refined and the dude was throwing bangers out from the go. This song hit my soul…and shit out these days usually doesn’t take my breath away, and make me feel like I’m ready to go fetal for a minute or two, but this song has a weird double meaning for me… and it hit so close to home, as someone with an incurable disease…and it’s just been a very nice, needed, cathartic moment for me (and I’m sure many others) who’ve just had a fucked up last few years. This is going to be the most played on my Apple Music, Spotify, and Google Music playlists…
