Thank you for your informative video and review this is a big game changer for me after doing this for more than 40 years on my 1977, 911 S. I ordered my kit with extra shims and screws to keep me running for years to come. Greetings from the Netherlands.

Super informative.

Thanks for watching Keith. Sorry it’s such a long one but quite a bit to go through on doing the adjustment. The SnapGap kit makes it so much easier!

Very informative, did you ever follow up with Stomski regarding the reach issue of the small dial indicator and is the solution to buy one small gauge to get to the difficult to access valves and one of the larger gauges to do the bottom exhaust valves? I’ve heard people removing the cat to gain better access.

I did Angelo and they were fantastic and provided a new gauge for me. Their customer service is absolutely amazaing and a brilliant team to deal with who put out fantastic tools!

Hi, Great video indeed...where can you buy the rear cover for the engine bay ? couldn't read the brand from the video...thanks from Belgium, G

I'm afraid I picked mine up of a fellow aircooled owner locally here in Toronto but I believe Pelican Parts sell them as a well. A must have if you are working on your car regularly. I dinged mine once with a screwdriver and purchased a protective cover immediately.

Great video, will be looking at this when my SC arrives…currently travelling on a ship. Did it solve the valve noise? Also love to get a video on the ducktail. Was that something you’ve added, it didn’t look like it was there in your earlier videos. Great channel, cheers

Yes - a huge reduction in valve slap and an overall tighter running engine! With SnapGap it was very easy to do and made. task that seemed daunting to me extremely easy and trouble free! A great DIY job for you! :)

Oh and sorry - yes the ducktail was added. I didn't do a video but perhaps should have. As an FYI none of them fit perfectly. They take quite a bit of massaging to work.

In prior message, the dates are wrong. SNAPGAP is open for business until Dec. 1, 2023 or until inventory runs out.

I don;t see this message Brad - are you guys not producing this kit any longer? Would love to know more because I am a big fan of it! Feel free to DM me.

@@79.outlaw Sorry. I don't know what happened with that. In any event, thanks for the great review! I am surprised I just found it but am pleased you like the kit. For a number of reasons, I have decided to stop the business unless I can find someone who would like to buy it. If you know of anyone, I am selling the patents, inventory, trademark, instruction manual copyrights and videos/photos and website content. It has application to the massive VW market that I have not yet tapped. Otherwise, I am back in business until Dec. 1 or until inventory runs out. Thanks again for the great and through review. And, yes you are correct, if the adjustment screw is dirty or bunged up, the kit will not work properly. Usually, chasing the screw with a nut will clear up any issues, but some have used a die or replaced their adjustment screws.

Great video. Fully identify with your experience…I’m pretty much in the same boat, ‘81SC. Appreciate your take on working on these amazing cars with not much of a mechanic’s background. Really remarkable what we can learn on KZbin. Really well produced videos as well. Congrats. Keep the content coming! The valve adjustment seems pretty daunting…have you noticed a difference in performance with the SnapGap solution? It seems almost like the perfect solution. Is there a risk the shim falls into engine when you replace it? I’m thinking of just getting the gauge but the digital one not the smaller one you got. Would the digital meter work on intake and exhaust valves? I saw the video where they say the smaller non-digital meter is good for valve adjustment when you don’t drop the engine, but I don’t know, seems like the digital one may work as well. Cheers.

Hey Carlos - so sorry for a late reply - I haven't been checking my comments enough! I don't have any concerns about the SnapGap shims falling on future adjustments - they seat in nice and tight and come off easily with some test runs I did. Its a very precise almost fool proof system. As for the gauges the digital gauge only fits on the top valves. You will need the smaller analogs gauge for the exhaust valves. It's tight in there and a standard sized gauge will not fit if you are doing this engine in. Hope this helps! ;)

What happened to this company? WHY can anyone buy the kit anymore????
