SEVENTEEN - 'CLAP' + 'Left & Right' MVs Reaction

As you may know, Seventeen is one of the Kpop industry's very first self-produced idol groups, this means that the members of Seventeen are the ones that create everything themselves, with help and advice from Pledis Entertainment's choreographers, songwriters and rap producers when needed. But the majority of everything you see and hear is created by the members and the professionals are only consulted or asked to assist to bounce ideas off of and to finetune things, etc. So, "Clap" was written by Woozi, who is the leader of the vocal unit, in collaboration with several other songwriters. Woozi writes a large majority of Seventeen's songs with the help of the rest of the vocal unit -- Jeonghan, Joshua, DK, and Seungkwan. Hoshi, who is the leader of the performance unit (dancers), most often creates the group's choreography along with input from the other members of the performance unit -- The8, Jun and Dino. And S.Coups, who is the leader of Seventeen and the leader of the hip-hop unit, usually writes the rap sections with help from the other members of the hip-hop unit -- Wonwoo, Mingyu, and Vernon. Both the song and MV for "Clap" is supposed to be all about how Seventeen are a self-produced group, so in the MV they are showing how they create everything themselves. In the MV it shows them creating the sets and holding meetings to discuss the production, and editing the video, etc. The lyrics are about how they hope people clap for them and they want to receive a lot of applause, etc. because they put a lot of effort into everything they do. Pretty much everything you see in their "Clap" MV is a reference to something from a previous MV or something to do with Seventeen. So, if you really get to know Seventeen as a group, you will start to see how this MV connects to their other MVs. Seventeen's name comes from the fact that they have 13 members + 3 sub-units (Vocal unit, performance unit and hip-hop unit) + they come together as 1 group = 17. Their fandom name is Carats -- like Seventeen carat diamonds. And their symbol is a diamond. To find 13 young men, who really didn't know each other before becoming a group, that are so multi-talented is impressive. And the fact that they are constantly able to come up with hit after hit and maintain one of the top spots in the industry all on their own, makes them even more mind blowing. You should see Seventeen's dance practice videos for "Clap" and "Left & Right." If you think they were impressive in the MV, just wait until you see the full choreography. You will be blown away by how in sync they are. They are known for their hyper synchronization and crazy dance skills. Most dancers will tell you there is no weak link in Seventeen, they all are impressive dancers.

A-TEEN is an OST from a web drama of the same name. It says part 3 because it was the third track released for the web drama (at least I think that’s what the part 3 stands for) The MV is a typical OST MV, consisting of clips from the drama. I recommend that live stage with the 5 members.

Will be waiting for more seventeen, I’ll recommend home;run, which gives 70s vibe (their best title track in my opinion) and god of music which is really fun and upbeat 🙏🏻🫶🏻

In Clap, I believe the belting is Seungkwan. But there's another one who has some pipes, and that's DK. They're both main vocals and omg if you want them to give you chills, you need to check out Fear. I personally think the Dance Practice for Fear is better than the MV, but either way, you should listen to it. And A-Teen is an OST. They have a "sequel" song called 9teen as well. They're for a kdrama but I don't know which one.

When it comes to ad libs, it’s probably gonna be one of the usual suspects: Seungkwan, DK, or Woozi. The ones we so lovingly refer to as Whitney, Mariah, and Celine 😂 They really go off on this live band version of All My Love - kzbin.info/www/bejne/paeWf4WvpK54h5Ysi=9ing9kUZbksN0OCI And while both the songs here may be older, they really have stood the test of time. They still do these in concerts.

Thank you for the reaction! I think you might also like God of music, Maestro and Fear. There are 13 members and 3 subunits, Hip Hop, Performance and Vocal. The super long guide 2023 by caratline17 is really good but it is in 4 parts and super long.

thx for reacting to this. clap was in the killing voice .seventeen are also starting they're enlistment starting with Jeonghan on September. if you like dark themes you can watch fear and getting closer, if you like vocal songs you could do they're jp songs like fallin flower and dream . home;run is more of a theatrical song,as for their popular songs the is super, hot, don't wanna cry and maestro (most recent release) As for the adlibs in clap it was dk and Seungkwan. a-teen is an ost for a kdrama and for the guides i'd recommend the super long guide to seventeen by caratline.

Based on what you have said so far, I would suggest Super and also check out God Of Music The guides that are the best are the 4 part one with an intro and one for each unit. I was a bit afraid of Seventeen cause there are 13 members, but if you think of it more in these smaller units, it becomes easier. The most recent album has the title track of Maestero and then each unit has a song with an MV so that could help too (LALALI for the Hip Hop unit, Spell for the performance unit and Cheers to Youth for the vocal unit) just an idea

Hmm groovy, i would probably recommend you aju nice, adore u, the two songs - Just Do It and Fighting from BSS (sub-unit, your #1 and #2 fav voice in this grp), Boom Boom, Home;Run, Super, Cheers (leader unit), LaLaLi (Hiphopunit). Since you really like A-TEEN, you probably might like 9-TEEN. Both songs are from the same K webdrama, A-teen (season 1 and 2) 😄
