fear is legitimately probably their best song for concept of lyrics. all seventeen songs have good lyrical work, but in this song the progression of the story and the poetic influence is realllyyyy strong.

Fear is just THAT song. I couldn't believe it wasn't loved enough. It would break records today. Whenever Fear is mentioned, people talk about that Vernon move (pretty iconic ngl) but it's Jeonghan for me, almost like my roman empire. It was the first time ever that I stopped a mv, covered my mouth and stared into oblivion in disbelief for a few seconds before resuming it.

As a 4-year carat, the time they were promoting Fear were the darkest times for their mental health... I think they went darkteen with Fear because of the demand from fans, but after Fear, they went back to uplifting music, with Left & Right and then the album Semicolon being about taking a break, enjoying the journey, caring for your mental health... After Fear was also when they started taking their physical and mental health seriously.

I’ve always interpreted fear as the idol x fan relationship, and how toxic that parasocialism can be. It’s a look at themselves, the masks they wear, the “lies” and fanservice they provide, but how they’re so deep in the fantasy that THEY need that love just as much. It’s a fascinating and deep song that should have come out in 2024 because it would have been INSAAAAAANE! even the choreo and visuals support the lyrics theory. it’s crazy, fear is insane. i’m glad you guys loved it.

'Fearless' is the continuation of Fear it doesn't have an mv but have a comeback show on mnet and they performed it on an award show too. Fearless have to be their first mega crew performance its amazing ❤

i'm here with fun facts time!!! for "hit" (as well as "getting closer") svt said they have to either start their concerts with the song or have it very early in the setlist, or they won't have the energy to dance the choreo properly any further into the concert! concerts where they have it a little later in the setlist usually omit parts of the choreo (like only dancing the chorus or the latter half of the song). it's often considered to be one of the hardest choreos in kpop; the energy needed for the jumps to stay precise throughout is crazy. they've also said this about "home;run" too a couple times which you'll get to soon! it's less intense but a lot of movement ^^ during "hit" jeonghan never leaves the stage for a breather on the sidelines (other members get this during the duo parts) which is so insanely impressive for the member with the (acknowledged) lowest stamina in the group. as a jjongjjongiefan i am so proud of him 🥹🥹 "fear" is, to this day, svt's only 'true' dark title track ("getting closer" is a lead b-side). woozi has said he thinks the song was ahead of its time and it's genuinely regarded as pretty slept on within caratland. the korean title "독" means poison! you guys are SOOO good at understanding context from the very first watch, like you picked up that they're drinking poison in the "fear" choreo which i've seen go over so many peoples' heads. just one example from this video but seriously you guys are great at noticing little details in choreo and in the music (you always hear the intricacies within the arrangements and the backing/harmonizing vocals too)

HIT is definitely the hardest choreo for them and they mentioned it several time. also if you see a fancam on music show, when some of them went to the side (while the other in the center) they were STRUGGLING. the panted so hard and even bending down and sweating like crazy. they barely even smile during HIT performance because it was so hard. but become one of their iconic choreography as well. and for FEAR, easily my NUMBER ONE favorite title track because of not only the song is good, but the choreo and the music video is masterpiece. too bad that during that era, fear is not really well loved by people. which is soooo weird because it's THAT good. woozi himself said that fear is so ahead of it's time, because had it released in this era it was gonna be more viral and loved.
