So, “adila kia akia shurapoe” is a language seventeen made up & carats believe it’s a call-back to a previous svt performance unit song called “i don’t understand but i love you”, the song being inspired by what a carat commented on their live once. Hoshi was really touched by that fan’s comment and how their love runs so deep that language isn’t a barrier at all. Spell could be a (very sexy) call back to / continuation of that song saying “we might not understand each other’s language, so we’ll create our own” I loved your interpretation’s at the end by the way. I always appreciate when you break down the lyrics for those who don’t know Korean, your videos help me understand them more. 😊

I can explain the tarot card and symbolism. Tarot cards have two meanings for each card. Upright means one thing, reverse means another. Hoshi's card - wing is the positive aspect of cupid, he spreads love around and (most of the time) brings happiness to the people he makes fall in love Dino's card - arrow is the reverse aspect of cupid, cupid shoots his arrows for the mischief of it, not benevolence. Causes a lot of heartbreak and tragedy due to misguided love Jun's card is the most obvious - Apollo, the God of the sun, beauty, music and dance The8's card - spell is what happened to Apollo when he experienced love for the first time (thanks to cupid), because of his obsession with and desperation to get Daphne to love him he neglects making sure the sun shines, no new music created, people lost the joy in revelry altogether Cupid (being the mischievous scamp) hit Apollo with his arrow to make Apollo fall in love with Daphne, but he hit Daphne (who was in love with Apollo) with a blunt and burned stick. It killed all the love she had for Apollo. For the lulz of watching Apollo chase after her, while she physically was incapable to get the feelings of love she lost back. The lovers card at the end is actually a reversed lovers card. Apollo and Daphne never get together. She literally got so sick of his shit she had her father (river god Ladon) turn her into a tree. There's so much symbolism in the costuming and sets that tie into it, I could probably write a whole essay. Rewatch it sometime keeping in mind that Hoshi & Dino are both playing cupid. (Hoshi singing to the mirror because he is an aspect of love, so of course the one he'd sing his verse to is himself/Dino singing to the camera because cupid is GOING to give/take love whether you want it or not) Jun as Apollo pre-cupid arrow, and The8 is Apollo under cupid's arrow, a blessing for most but in his case a curse. The backup dancers also play a part, they're affectionate and faces the cupids but they're aloof towards and/or looks away from the Apollos. They're Daphne and Ladon.

ANOTHER great reaction! Thank you! This is a comment I found under another reaction that might help explain a bit...or it did for me. "They are tarot cards, part of the major arcana and it has meaning. Jun is the apollo, the8 is the heart, hoshi is the wings and dino is the arrow. Their cards also have a number on them in roman numerals that directly corresponds to their order in seventeen, eg, hoshi is the 5th oldest so his card says V. When the8 (the heart) gives his heart to jun (the Apollo), their card becomes 0. This number signifies the “fool” suggesting that they both become fools of love, because of love, essentially casting a spell on them. At the end you can see dino represents earth with the flowers, jun on the beach with water, hoshi and his angel wing as air and the8 as fire because of how he’s dancing in front of the sun earlier. Adilla kia akia syurapoe is a gibberish sentence to emulate the spell that they’re putting us under, a language that only two lovers would know, something that no one else can understand. There’s many other theories and meanings and it is all very interesting and meaningful. There’s also references to icarus as hoshi only has one wing in the beginning, could symbolise how he flew too close to the sun, when you’re so in love it can burn you and break you too."

Awww I saw 17 Is Right Here album on the corner of your background shelf! (Mine still on transit by this date) this was choregraphed by Kirsten Dodgen (Jam Republic) in collaboration with seventeen long time collaborator Choi Young jun (Team Same) and Team Aura. This song is so magical I love it. And it is true they are specially showcasing units songs by putting out MV, celebrating their compilations album. I love how these mv’s (along with upcoming cheers to youth) is highlighting what is Seventeen been doing by definition throughout their career. 13 Members, 3 units and 1 team. This formula never changed but only improved along the time. Proving that large numbers of team members offers more versatility rather than a burden.
