I live in Michigan and I gotta say, this storm was the very first time in my life we ever actually felt scared and had to take cover downstairs…this was a very scary storm, constant lightning and thunder, whirling wind, it was dark so we couldn’t see anything and power went out we were completely in the dark as to what was happening outside, I’ve never experienced a storm like this

Same here. I'm from Chatham Ontario Canada, an hour North of Windsor just off the 401. I stood on my front porch watching the constant light show. It was so hot, I knew it would get bad. At 11pm Thursday night, the entire city blacked out. We got power back about 16 hours later. I lost the wood fence along my yard and thought that was something but then me and my wife went for a walk around the area and were shocked at the number of trees down, some huge ones blown over and down onto vehicles and houses. So much damage, but at least the homes are still standing. It could've been much worse but this is the worst I've seen in my life.

When disaster hit materialistic things are not important....

That is one of the great lessons. Maybe we wouldn't be so demanding on Nature if materialism wasn't our primary goal. Maybe if our needs were more important than our consumeristic wants. Maybe we don't gotta have it (all).

I've been in 2 tornadoes and let me tell you, these storms had me more scared then I've ever been in my life!!! I live in Lorain Ohio in Lorain county and we got hit HARD!!! The storms lasted all night Wednesday night and into Thursday morning!!! Then another storm came through Thursday night that I thought was never going to stop!!! My sister lost power at 8:30 pm Wednesday and it just came in today at 6:30 pm!!! These storms will definitely go down in history!!! I hope I never experience anything like this again!!! Sending prayers to friends and family of those who lost their lives in Michigan!!! The weather man called this storm "The ring of fire"! Because we had a massive heat cell hanging over us and then a cold front came in and caused this storm to keep circling and going all night long!!! My 13 year old autistic son paced all night long because he was terrified!!! I'm praying the storms are finally over and we can actually sleep tonight!!! Stay blessed everyone!!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

I live in Lorain too. Our basement flooded with 3 feet of sewer water, so did all my neighbors. No furnace, air conditioning, no washer, no dryer, no hot water, and every piece of my clothes were freshly laundered and is in sewer water. All of my grandson's clothes also were under that nasty sewer water, and school starts Monday. I can barely walk, ( I need knee replacements ) and hubby has heart disease and a pace maker. I had no choice but to shower in cold water today. I am so overwhelmed. We lost thousands of dollars worth of food. It is so disgusting. The city claims the sewer problem is not their fault because this was an act of God. The mess is overwhelming, Insurance man isn't coming till a week after tomorrow. We probably have 50 large garbage bags out on our tree lawn, and there is still tons of stuff to take out that got ruined. I washed some clothes by hand, hung them out to dry, and I just heard rain falling again. UGH!!!

My son and I had to literally find a path that didn't have 6 inches of water on it to walk to the bus stop at West Erie!!! Sending you lots and lots of prayers!!! Nice to meet a neighbor on KZbin!!! Potterville Michigan is a disaster area. They are saying 3 tornadoes hit our small town. I have never seen anything like it. It was so loud we didn’t hear the sirens going off. Thankfully family texted us to get in basement. By then it was already on top of us. The walls were shaking and the wind was like a roaring rumbling freight train. Still without power 5 days in but thankfully my family and the community are safe.

From the south we've had a few surprise storms popping up like this lately. I'm used to knowing the day ahead when there will be a big storm instead we were woke up by alarms on our phones as the storm hit howling 80 mph winds and power outages, debris clean up multiple times over the summer. It's insane yall.

I live right where this happened, and these were straight line winds, that did some, but little damage. (A house in Comstock Park, and a tree over in walker) Notice how they zoom in on things not showing the surrounding area. The sky and weather showed like the sings of a tornado, but nothing spotted. With a twister you have calmness, and then hail, and then the sounds of like a train coming, but to them it's all global warming, and it's destroying everything until they get their electricity, that they have all their money tide into. God bless
@kathrynriggs2489
@kathrynriggs2489 Жыл бұрын
@Michael-ie7fo Very glad you are OK. I agree, we have more issues with the straight line winds. 99 % of our Strom damage is caused by straight line winds. Pine trees have shallow roots and always full canopy, so they are easily uprooted. Any other tree with a full canopy at the time of the storm is very susceptible. I do believe in global warming, but we've always had storms and occasionally funnel clouds. I'm fortunate that I live close enough to the lake that they bounce off the dunes, but those straight line winds will do more damage.

The airplane flying into a tropical storm or hurricane (?)is along the east coast, not Michigan. They put too many topics together in one article. Michigan did endure 7 tornadoes & 5 death and much damage. Very unusual weather, very scary. Maybe not like down south, but still devastating. Many still without power, and cleanup will be going on for some time as giant trees were twisted and snapped, roofs ripped off etc. etc. not pretty.. And loss of life💔😓 Just awful 💔😓

@@commanderbell1965 What a coincidence... Your stupidity is correct. What else has been around for billions of years? Humans. Wow, somehow you actually managed to prove my point but are still wrong. Humans first came 4 biillion years ago. I guess WE DID CREATE THEM.... or climate change exists. Go fall off the edge of your flat earth dumbass.

For someone that believesin god, you sure are forgetting about the fire and brimstone, and the great flood. If there is a god, he made those storms. Luckily there isnt and this is man made climate change. You want someone to fix it... start looking at yourself and also big corperations. Not god. God doesnt care about michigan lol

@@ligmajohnson9400 The fact that they are now spawning regularly much further east and north and with greater intensity most certainly is a clear indication of our changing climate. A changing climate caused by the burning of fossil fuels. Keep up dummy.

I guess you skipped school when they taught weather. Tornadoes dont exactly have a schedule. They start and stop in minutes. You should get on some educational youtube and stay away from the news channels until you can understand how basic things work.

Well, in 2009 during Michael Jacksons This is it rehearsal, he said, "this worlds got 3 years to get it right" After that, the damage will be irreversible. I trily believe he was talking about the earth and climate change.

Is it just me, or was this poorly reported? Just felt the video was suppose to be about Michigan's tornado's, but became a mishmash of several other weather events. I do understand they all play a roll in the weather.... Just seems like lately, reporting has been a bit jumbled.. Maybe it's just me😳
